Why do people still engage with this relic? Beyond me.

It just so happens that I have representative honours at Volleyball going back a year or two, so I know how tough a sport it can be. I assumed, and still do, that you were more referring to the costumes and the 'fitness' of the participants.

I don't suppose you remember the names of the saints players?
My mum mentioned today that she watched a England women's game at the dell as she knew one of the players

Old age has taken its toll and she can't remember her name (so can't have known her that well)

I agree with your sentiments about Hope Powell, she is the female equivalent of Stuart Pearce tactically.

Lapras, you know a lot more about this than I do, so can you tell me why Farah Williams was dropped from the first XI during the last Euros and hardly played during the Olympics?

Spain v England 1.1 at half-time. Spain are the underdogs (allegedly) but are managing to look dangerous.

Mauricio's first managerial experience was with a women's team...presumably at Espanyol.

watching this with my daughter, England have some pretty handy players, especially Aluko and Williams.

England have some good players and look a decent side when they get the ball down and play. They just have to resist the temptation to play long, a favoured England tactic.

Haha! Got to punish that mistake. What a miss.

England are set up too defensive. I don't think there's a need to get 9 outfield players behind the ball every time they lose possession.

Wow that was lucky... Reminds me of the old England's mens team of the 90s. Houghton is either the female equivalent of Kyle Walker or she is not fit.

Yes, they are definitely just like the mens team, what a way to lose.

My bollocks resting on the goal line would have been more useful than this England keeper. Absolute ****e.

Why England went back to 4-1-4-1 after the equaliser is beyond me and ridiculous. I felt like they were the better team but the formation wasn't giving them any freedom. It was so rigid and they looked uncomfortable playing it.

Read my earlier post. Hope "get it up there" Powell. Awful coach.

Correct. Mauricio did his badges at Espanyol, coached a bit there and moved to become Espanyol Ladies' manager.

Then took over the men's team and then... well, we all know.

Even by women's goalkeeping clanger standards, scoring an own goal in the last minute to lose you the game by having it hit you full in the face... is impressive stuff.

Women goalkeepers remind me of these....
