Andre Villas-Boas has taken to the OS to share some positive news about Younes Kaboul and Sandro. The former's been in full training all week and the latter is set to take it up next week, prior to flying out to Hong Kong for our friendlies. please log in to view this image âItâs a very good start to pre-season for both players,â âItâs great for Younes after a year out to come back to training and have double sessions with no problems. âSandro hit six months last week (he was injured on January 12) and we are on plan, heâs made an excellent recovery and weâre very happy with him. âOne more week and heâll join the group and he will also join us for full training in Hong Kong.â If they manage to make their way back to full fitness for the coming season, then it would be a massive boost.
If we can get full preseasons in them it will be brilliant, I wasn't expecting Sandro to be ready for the start of the season
Urm !!!....... don't want to spoil the party before it has really started but, players returning off the back of long-term injury are some times not the same player as before (the injury). It's a subconscious thing that inhibits even the top professionals to this day. We might not see Sandro or Kaboul at their battling best 'till well into the season.
Sandro's new haircut disagrees with you, Bajan: please log in to view this image You're right, of course, but it's nice to see them back on the road to recovery and the timing would seem to be helpful.
A midfield trio of Dembele, Sandro, and Paulinho, with Bale and Lennon out wide, and NEW MARQUE STRIKER up front! Oh, sweet Jesus!
Kaboul and Sandro's returns are just as good as new signings. Really starting to get excited about how our team can look against Palace. The midfield trio of Sandro, Dembele and Paulinho really excites me. Hopefully we can add Chadli and Benteke/ Soldado and if we do, bloody hell we'll be a force.
**** YEAH! I literally have everything crossed they are ok. We've got a beast of a team with these 2 and the regulars from last year. We might even score from a corner at some point
It's great to see Kaboul back although I've heard his injury is similar to Ledley King's - I've heard it's bone-on-bone now He'll need super careful management this season in particular.
I heard that Kaboul's injury could go either way. If it doesn't react badly this time then he'll be ok, but a negative turn and it could be nasty. No idea how accurate that is though, unfortunately.
Someone cited a twitter source for this rumour a few days ago. Make of that what you will. Personally I would not take a twitter source as cause to start doubting the future of the bloke's entire career!
I thought I remembered someone on some other thread saying it was an "apparently reliable" twitter source but I might be wrong. Can't remember who it was. Anyway - something being on twitter doesn't necessarily make it false. It's just, y'know, I take it all with a massive pinch of salt. Quite sceptical at the best of times and during the off-season (when, despite there being absolutely zero football, there's still hundreds of pages of "news" about every single club) I assume 95% of what I hear is likely to have very little truth to it. It literally makes no difference to me which is why I'd never end up worrying about someone's career because a chronic injury that's never been mentioned by anyone other than someone I read on a forum. But of course stuff does turn out to be true 5% or so of the time. So let's hope it's not one of those times. Who/what was your source, by the way? And why do you trust them? I know there are good ones out there but never bother to remember who they are and why someone said they were trustworthy.
