Someone posted the Barmby sacked thread yesterday, interesting reading. I am reminded of the chicken little story. The sky is falling etc
On the moderation thread you were very intolerant of my posts when they were fewer than yours on here, but just as relevant to the thread topic as yours is. I made responses, as you are (but not as dismissive), but you instructed me to PM those making posts against my opinion. You were unable to not read the thread, even though it offended you. Why is this different, on a board that discusses football, but isn't a football board? That's is why I believe your throw-away quote is a tad rich; even though I agree with the essence of both it and your argument.
We are Hull City AFC "The Tigers". The people in charge should know that, and if they don't then we will let them know in the upcoming months.
Agree with that Chazzy. Some posters need to calm down or get some Tena pants on and ease off on the overly dramatic rhetoric and name calling. Once you resort to insults, you've already lost your argument.
It doesn't even matter if it sounds good or not, the point is it's a crock of ****. I can't believe people are even writing things like "If it makes us money." Why would it make us money? Asians aren't stupid. They don't just support small English sides because they're called Tigers. They support Man United or Arsenal because they're successful. Literally no one in Asia or anyone else is going to give a ****. I can't understand how it's become accepted that you need a new name to have fans in Asia. Bullshit of the highest order.
absolutely spot on, as being stated, a name brand won't bring commercial success in asia, you need years of success which is why the arsenals and uniteds are huge over there, even man city are not too big, and it's why arsenal and united tour asia every year usually Hull city tigers just sounds absurd and americanised
This may be a **** face but it has been at an obsure away game from a long long time ago therefore giving me the right to belittle anyone who doesnt agree with my plans/thoughts/opinions on Hull City FC AFC Tigers.
Oh really? I was working the turnstiles at 'fer ark when I was 3 years old with my father and Uncle John. In the rain. I think that gives me just as much right as you new fans.
As fans I think we will always call our team Hull City and sing chants for Hull City. I don't want a name change...unless there is a good reason.. No idea if there is or if there is not. Hull Tigers makes me think of a Rugby team Don't Leicester have a rugby team called Leicester Tigers. People have said a name change couldn't , wouldn't bring in more money, If that's the case what's the point of a name change ? Stupid idea if we gain nothing from it.. So if we gain nothing I am against it
I think that the point Scarbs these "people" have done absolutely no market research etc into this. You have always believed in the Allams, they arent idiots-theres a reason for this. We dont know what it is. We're nearly always called Hull on national tv and people get all stroppy on here about it. Maybe this will give us a national identity not this great most famous club ever image that goes on in Aggies tiny brain.
When it comes to building diesel generators, I'm quite sure the Allam's are geniuses. When it comes to brand marketing, I think they know little, if anything. As they're proving currently.
I don't strongly disagree with the decision but i don't get the reasoning behind it. What is the reasoning behind it? I am pretty certain Cardiff have not all of a sudden doubled there income from the Asian markets, i am also certain they probably made a lot less from merchandise due to the change of colour. Will this move make Hull City a lot of money? No. Does it make us more marketable? Personally i don't see how Hull City The Tigers makes it anymore marketable, anyone who knows football will know where called The Tigers as our nickname so i really don't see any benefits to it. Personally i think it is more an ego thing and the Allams just want this club to be there's. Same as the stadium its as much about their ego and what they imagine for the club rather than what is right for the club.
We had all this they know **** all about football, we'll plunge down the divisions ****e last season. I imagine they listen and take good advice. If it doesnt work how they want it too, then what does it matter, they tried something. There really is no harm done. The rest of the country dont give a **** what we do or who we are.
When it comes to saving then running a football club, compared to anyone at all on here, they're more than geniuses. As they're proving currently too.
I really do believe that there is no plan to change the team or club name. But there has been a change to the business branding. Could this have been due to the recent difficulties caused by Adam Pearson?
Wrong, they have been in football since late 2010/early 2011 was it? I have been running football clubs since football manager 98.
