It's not about right or wrong but if you read the top of the thread my initial enquiry was using local knowledge to get into untapped markets. I live in Poland which financially and instant players wise has much more to offer the Africa which I think has been explained in my last reply.
I understand that mate, thought we just exploring the markets in general chit chat. I wasn't aware it had to one or the other. You see if your right in ten years fella. I'll have forgotten all about this.
Value is only relevant in the event of a sale, he could never move club again so never have a value or let his contract run down again. How much was Ryan Giggs worth in his prime? It's like a philosophical question.
My point is that in Europe there are bargains to be had that the Germans seem to pick up. He left Poznan for less then Danny graham cost us! How many more Lewandowski's are floating around Eastern Europe unnoticed by English teams? This liege African adventure will take at least 3-4 years before we see any players in a sunderland shirt.
But we're doing exactly that in Peruzzi and Giaccherini, low fees and low wages. I'm sure if they felt a young polish lad was right we'd make a move. We can't search all of europe at once. most of europe is struggling with the economy so these bargains are spread all over the place. We can't sign every talent and not every talent fits the criteria.
Knowing nowt about the Polish league I'm sure their iare some decent prospects as well as a whole load of rubbish (as anywhere) Dortmund seem to have tapped into that market very well on the three examples given. but they are also a massive club in Germany. Any player in any country that looks like being above average will go to the top clubs in England, Spain, Germany and now France. it's difficult to gets the half decent ones. out of interest who are the 3/4 rising stars in the Polish league?
Write to our Director of Football, c/o SOL and tell him about the hot prospects and who they play for. I'm sure he can check them out and the same goes for anybody else in other countries who identifies really good prospects.
Daft as **** some people. SAFC have made a few waves in a transfer market, they so far have done nothing..E xcept one thing, that is signing the American, he is the marketing tool, not some friggin African or Asian...(oh the untouched market,,ffs, the big 4 have it sewn up)
I spend most of my time all about Asia in Indonesia, Vietnam, Phillipines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore etc. And down here pretty much its Man Utd, Chelsea, Barca, some Liverpool and some Arsenal. Mostly Barca and Utd tho. Malays, Indo's, and Singaporeans normally wear the football tops and talk football with me, but as was mentioned, the vast majority support those teams. Man Utd seem to always do a pre-season down in Asia, although this year they are stopping in Sydney - with a large Asian contingent there.
I'm not been talking about the business side, I'm talking about the football side, and I've never once mentioned asia. Most of this topic has been about untapped markets for players I brought invest in africa up as I believe the end game could be more about attracting the young talented players to pick us (just an opinion). I haven't said anything about establishing a majority fan base anywhere, I've no idea why you're putting those points to me. Read what I've said ffs.
