I'm not sure about Bruce, I obviously rated him as a United legend at the back but I've always been a bit confused by him as a manager, he shows glimpses of being a very good manager but I think his problem seems to be man management. I don't think he's destined for the top clubs, but I think he can hold his own in this league albeit only for short periods with each club.

I think losing Bent, Welbeck and Gyan really messed up his chances of success at Sunderland and because he replaced them with players of lesser quality I guess he was always going to burden the blame. It's a shame as well because those three players could have started something special at Sunderland but they went on to sit on benches or play in sand and ride camels to work. Those three probably notched up 45 goals between them in a season and were replaced with Bendtner on loan and a young kid with no experience, and for that Bruce is definitely to blame (although didn't Gyan leave after the window had closed in England? so he deserves a little concession).

Anyway, as for the OP I'm surprised more of you aren't saying United. You've not beaten us at Old Trafford since the 60's surely you'd like one here before a standard 3 points against Villa?

No team need putting in their place more than Liverpool so I'll go with them, oh, and Man City to continue their annual whipping.

Fulham,,,,,,,,,,,,Winnable first game of the season. At home, get three points on the board, knock in 2 or 3, get the confidence up and off we bloody well go.

Liverpool mostly, for me. Then Man U.

After the 1992 final I met up with a coachload of bindippers and they were all "we're used to this (winning trophies) you know?". Man U fans are also terminally smug.

    Twats...

Anyone not bothered as 3 points will see us only needing another 37 to reach that much talked about magic 40 point mark.

This. If we could handsomely beat the best team/ club in the last 25 years, then I will know things have improved for us. We have a poor record against them IMO.
