Illarramendi gone to Madrid for €38m. If they ask about Morgan, we better tell them it'll cost €40m.

I like what Madrid are doing this summer. Illaramendi and Isco will add a lot of class, and it's nice to see them buying local produce. Also I assume they'll be keeping a hold of Carvajal after he did so well at Leverkusen last season.

Because these players are different class.

Spain U-21/U-20's and England U-20's are light years apart so comparing fees isn't fair.

Two of the best players in the world for their age without a shadow of a doubt and only going to get better. Nice to see Real not going for galacticos and building a young team of talented footballers.

They had to buy Carvajal back! Like what they're doing so far, could do with a real blockbuster striker and another centre-back to round it off though. Ridiculous to think that with the players they already have and having already bought some real quality and spent about £70m but I still think they could do with more, but that's the nature of the beast at the moment, the depth of quality at the top clubs is incredible.

There haven't been any particularly ridiculous signings from EPL teams so far. The only transfers in which I think the buying team has overspent are Fernandinho, Andy Carroll and Andreas Cornelius.

The reason we occasionally see English clubs spend stupid amounts is that they have stupid amounts to spend.

Carroll has an extensive foot injury apparently, though hopefully (if you support West Ham) he will be fit for the start of the season.

I'm guessing that they're one of the three teams who are supposedly interested in Suarez. He'd be perfect there. I'm not sure what centre-backs they'd go for, but I suppose Hummels might be an option now that Barca have signed Marquinhos, or if they want to really piss Sociedad fans off, they could go for Inigo Martinez.

Honestly, I don't think a foot injury would hamper his game at all. Probably wasn't planning on using it anyway.

Sitting in the wheelchair would negate his height advantage slightly, though if you run over someone's foot a couple times, they'll probably give you room to win the next header.

Word is at the moment that PSG are going to match Roma's demands for Marquinhos which Barca were unwilling to do, whether that's to partner or replace Thiago Silva remains to be seen. I really like Inigo, would leave Sociedad with a big rebuilding job though.

Wow, this whole ambitious thing really isn't working out for them. His Wikipedia page already has him as a Cardiff player, and on the Cardiff page he's in the squad. Someone's jumped the gun.

I thought the Marquinhos deal was done, but clearly not. Also I didn't realise he was only 19. Perhaps Hummels would be a better option anyway.

If Liverpool doesn't swoop soon, I'd be more than happy to throw £8m at Blackpool and see whether Ince likes us any better.

I don't think the big boys will be that interested in Ince. I may be wrong, but he should just be happy somebody in the PL has offered him a contract.

May not want to live in Wales. I say fair play to him least he doesn't just jump ship for more money.
