With the modern day footballers becoming more distant from us football fans as time goes on.
Sad to hear that Wayne Rooney is being returned home, suffering from a Hamstring injury.
Ruling hime out for approx one month.
Not questioning the injury, but could he have not stayed with the players whilst in Melbourne and Sydney
If I was an football fan living in Oz I would love just to see Wayne Rooney, even if he can't play
Most of the Manchester United medical staff would be with the players,
so not sure what treatment he would receive back in the U.K.
Maybe some thing else is going to happen over the next month

My first reaction was this as well.

I guess rather than have him travelling around from venue to venue the sensible thing would be to get him home (if the injury is real)

He'll be back home to visit the club doctors and to be monitored at their facilities. It's very unlikely that Man Utd will take their entire entourage with them for a pre-season tour.

Always amuses me when the big clubs moan about to many fixtures during the season.
Yet all of them travel half way round the world to fulfil very lucrative deals a few weeks before the Prem starts.

Made me cringe listening to Company in SA last night talking about Mandela.
Money - the only reason they're there.
    Cynical bas**rds.

You have to laugh about Rooney that u have the manager saying that they wont sell him how he was told by rooney that this is the fittest he has every been and then gets injured on the first day so has to return home to spend time with his new born.

The big problem is a couple years ago he handed in a transfer request because rhe club werent bringing in big names. The club bring in players like RVP who is above rooney in the pecking order so he now wants to leave because he isnt playing enough first team football or in the position he wants so sorry Wayne but u cant have it both way.

What annoys me even more is that they've got a guaranteed 25 man squad, full of players that won't play more than a fifth of the available matches that season. If clubs were more willing to rotate their players around then perhaps their players wouldn't be too tired.
