The more I read about this deal, the more i'm realising just how special a deal we have here. PAOLO DI CANIO has left Juventus fuming after agreeing a £6.8million move for midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini. The Turin side had initially wanted nearly £11m for Giaccherini - who starred on the right flank for Italy at the Confederations Cup. However, as Juventus need to recoup some of their transfer outlay in order to make more signings this summer, Di Canio has managed to secure the 28-year-old on a cheaper deal. Having brought in forwards Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente already, the Serie A outfit have sanctioned the sale of Giaccherini to Sunderland to help land £13m defender Angelo Ogbonna from Torino "Giaccherini was valued, [but] they offered him an important contract," said Juventus coach Antonio Conte. "I'm happy for him but unhappy for me. "I'm not happy with the sale of Giaccherini but in times of crisis when you buy you must also make sacrifices." Di Canio is also closing in on a £5m deal for Tottenham's unsettled midfielder Tom Huddlestone.
im really excited about this signing. he hasnt got any prem experiance but is a full italian international. i think we could have a really strong midfield this coming season and its something to really look forward to. if we can get the couple of transfers that are ongoing at the minute over the line we will have a really strong side. we have only lost mig so far so still have most of opur first team from last year as well, i expect a few of those to go but should still leave us in good stead
I'm worried that it just seems to be taking ages to sign him and Peruzzi! Every morning I hear that they are going to sign today, then it keeps being delayed! Now they wont be signing till Monday! If these players are as good as what I hear, we are being well primed to be gazumped! Hope I'm wrong! Not sure I can wait till Monday!
He's still on holiday. When he gets back in on Monday it's straight into a medical. Calm Down and become Italian.....
I see where your coming from, its usually red tape with these things, work permits etc, its times like this when our pr dept need a kick up the arse! All i've heard on ssn this morning is pellegrini might make a signing, so what, we are on the verge of a potential quadruple signing, guess its just how we play the media game, stealth like as frustrating for us as it is Just have to look at ba, we knew that was done yonks ago
im confident we will get him though. he is apparently having a medical wih us in italy so were in the perfect place to get him
There is normally loads of chatter, it then goes quiet for a couple of days, then they are unveiled at the AOL.
Aye like johnson and fletcher last year, remember some arsehole journo saying the nags had gazzumped us then boom! he's in the shirt
