You haven't watched womens rugby then?lol

When the ref checks nails and stoods before the game I think they need to add checking private parts into it because I swear 90% of the players look like blokes

    Morning all

All womens sport I can be intrested in is Beach Volley Ball and possibly a little bit of Tennis. Sorry but Rugbys a crap anyway and I get sick of being told Football's a ****ters sport by Rugby League fans.

As for Wabara this deal has taken way too long can we just wrap it up please.

I thought Somma had gone already, but BMD this morning has stated that Somma will not be getting a new contract and isn't part of his plans. he's not seen Somma and presumes he's sorting himself out? BMD has also stated that Dom Poleon is staying and not being loaned out, as he's part of our new 4 man strike force? So I guess we will not see a new striker coming in, so Smith and Hunt will need to hit the ground running, and Ross needs to get in on the act as well as create from his new midfield role. Poleon is fast and has a great strike on him according to our manager, so we need some luck unless our boys get some decent service . New midfielder anyone?

    Morning :)

If we were to sign Reece Wabara that'd mean we'd have both players who scored for Oldham against Liverpool in the FA Cup last season. If we're going on this logic, next up would be the Everton games so I guess the 19 year old winger Jordan Obita from Reading is our next transfer target rumour?

I think we should try and bring the ladies team back under the umbrella - and work more with schools, local colleges and Unis too. It's a catch 22 really, the quality of the womens game will improve but like our mens squad, it takes investment. I'd like our club to back football throughout the area as much as it possibly can. The more the club is the leading figure of the wider football community in Leeds, the more we'll get back in the long run in return. I see having sides like this, as with outreach to schools football and local non-league clubs, an investment in the wider fan base. The more people interested and/or playing football in the city, the better.

Have to say I agree. Nothing against women's football in the slightest, but it's painful to watch. Technically shambolic, played at a dire pace, no creativity and a shocking turnover of possession, no one holds onto the ball for more than 30 seconds before smashing it straight back to the opposition <doh> I'd rather watch the cricket!

Hadn't seen any womens football for a while, but saw that England vs Spain is on at the minute, so just watched a bit of it. It's really difficult not to sound sexist with this topic, but I'm in complete agreement with Kiwi! It really is painful to watch. Maybe this increased awareness and coverage will lead to more uptake and the quality will go up though?

sleep tight , bit of a late one for you, Shako - speak to you later this afternoon, if you feel well enough ;)

On the women's footy, disagree on two counts:

    1. the standard. There's enough evidence from other sports to suggest they will, in time, turn up to a decent standard. Never physically as strong as men, but the skill could come. I thought the highlights of the French game v Russia
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23296294
show this, and some of the Spanish play v England. In any case, it will come, albeit with the caveat it will never have the explosiveness that men's superior physical strength gives their game. (To add, the England coach saying women could beat the men is an effing joke, but thats not the point I am making, just that they can achieve high enough skill levels, in time)

    2. the ****ing point. Which is its nothing to do with how good they are anyway, or whether you personally would want to spend money (or even time) going to watch the current lot play. Its this - football is a skilled base game, its not mud wrestling (although..................) and women have a perfect right to play it. If they are playing it, I want the Leeds team to be LUFC and to be bloody good, the best there is, like everything LUFC should be. It was shortsightedness on Bates part to pull the plug on supporting it.

Thats it. Never thought me, born in LS11 and into my 60's, would be doling out lectures on political correctness. Must be becoming a New Man, late in life <laugh>

Also, some of them have nice backsides. Notably the Spanish No14 (I think that was her number) <laugh> (Damn - I think I just ruined my "New Man" speech)

I'm going to be brutally honest and politically incorrect, all in one go. There is only one reason I watch women's sports and that's to watch the women. I don't give a **** if they're good or bad
