That's a good follow up LFF. I did think the goalie was a saints player.

I can, the ones who play it aren't fit enough (fit as in athletic, not eye candy fit). Some of them carry way too much timber, and can hardly be called elite athletes.

The more sporty birds will partake in other sports and the hot ones will be more interested in finding a husband than playing sport. You end up with a bunch of 6 pinters kicking a ball around pretending they're as good as men.

The problem with the modern politiclly correct world is you point about the bleeding obvious and you are tarred as some sort of relic from the past. Society has filled their pretty little heads with all sorts of nonsense. If they spent more time at home and less time plodding around the pitch, im sure they'd be happier in the long run.

Or maybe they could be teachers, lawyers, architects, etc. Women do all sorts of things these days!

Having thought about it a bit more I think I can put my finger on it. Women in sport generally will listen to coaches more than their male counterparts. Take golf a the classic example. Professional lady golfers, more often that not, will have classic swings because of their ability to actually listen and take note of what their coaches say. Us blokes though prefer to welly it as far as we can rather than bother too much about technique.

I think the same applies to football. They tend to play a more coached game, less spontaneous but with good technique. As such, it is maybe less exciting generally.

However, to say they aren't fit enough is total garbage.

Indeed. I've worked under many many women and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Saints doing a "ladies day" for female saints fans in aid of charity.

I can't recall too many ladies at St Mary's looking like this, although it is correct to see them nattering and not watching the game....

    That's rubbish.

Women golfers are hopeless round the greens, their short game is hopeless. If your theory of better technique was correct they would be able to compete with men playing off the reds, when in reality they cant.

Have you seen the state of some of them, Jessica Ennis they aint, particularly the keepers. If they were fitter then maybe they could reinvent the game slightly ala beach volleyball ( I believe Blatter had similar thoughts), but just to try and copy the men's game is just political correctness.

Everything's political correctness with you isn't it. Most people would just call it equality. Do you have a special lady in your life? If so, is she allowed out of the house?

If you had them playing off different tees of course they could compete. I'm not saying they would necessarily be as good straight away but eventually they would. The problem with a lot of sports is considerably more men tend to play them so there is a much greater chance that top players will emerge. It is no coincidence that USA are so good at ladies football because so many more of them play it from an early age. In fact many Americans tend to see it as a ladies' game.

No-one is saying that you are looking at an identical game, but beach volleyball<doh>

Good point. I was going to suggest that maybe he'd be more comfortable in Saudi Arabia, but then I realised that women are pushing pretty hard for the right to drive there now, and I don't think he could handle that level of "political correctness".

Hope Powell has said that in terms of technical ability, England's women could beat the men's national side.

The England football coach was speaking to Newsround ahead of the 2013 Women's Euros competition in Sweden.

Asked whether the women's team could beat the men, she answered: "Absolutely, why not?

"I think physically the guys are obviously a lot stronger than the women, but if we took it on technical ability we're as good as the men."

Considering some of the donuts in the England squad, for once, I find it hard to argue with Hope Powell's point.

The lovely Mrs Duck has a career and has worked for many years, so yes she is allowed out the house.

Her career actually proves my point, she is a midwife. I don't think anyone would argue that women make better midwives than blokes. In the same way blokes are better footballers than chicks.

What the hells wrong with beach volleyball, it's a great spectator sport and the chicks are fit (in both respects of the word). An old drinking buddy of mines daughter actually represented UK at it in the Olympics. I'd love to see you run beach volley ball down in front of him ( he is 6ft 4+)

I can see why midwifery would be more appealing to women, but I see no reason why a man couldn't do it, and some do. A lot of men are also gynaecologists. Men tend to be better at football than women because the average man's physicality is more suited to it than the average woman's. That fact, however, is no reason for anyone to say that women shouldn't play football. They can do it if they want, just as a man can be a midwife if he wants.
