Is the 3rd umpire Pakistani by any chance, 2 horrendous decisions against England that cost them 100+ runs. 1st their last man should have been out as he was clearly stumped and then Trott given out when there was a clear inside edge. Shocking decisions.
This is the type of game I think we were both hoping for ................. one that goes one way then the other. Michael Clarke can give himself an uppercut. Sorry, never liked the guy simply because he should be wearing a skirt. He's no Ian Chappell, that's for sure. Great to see some backbone shown by the young Aussie, Agar. The Poms are fighting back with a good settling in period and starting to structure a good second innings................. just the kind of game we all want, I reckon. Of course, we both want a result but it sure beats a thrashing either way.
Splendid Ashes drama so far. Brilliant from young Agar..........but he was out on 6. 3rd umpire had an unbelievable mare yesterday!! First test nerves and tension are dictating, but I reckon England's superiority should show throughout the series imo. KP and Cook need to bat long today.
Cook and KP out, was looking for a big ton from at least one of them, disappointing to get to 50 plus then lose it......but fancy Swan on this wicket if we can get 200 ahead.
Tough morning session 77-2, need bell & bairstow to still be batting at tea....meanwhile aussies slightly ahead on points....anything around 250 plus to chase will be really difficult with swann bowling into the rough and the aussies have so many lefties...
Another tough session 73-2.....England lead by 165.....still too close to call......proper test cricket
This does not appear to be a track that any batsman is really ever "in" on. Bell is really struggling to be his usual fluent self. If England can bat for most of the last session, we may just have enough of a lead with the Aussies having to face Swan in the last innings.
interesting decision by Broad...that's the newspapers written for tomorrow. An Aussie would never have walked, umpire will take the blame.
I think so Nuts, set up for Swann. But it only takes one and a half batsmen to fare well and it will be very close. England will want to keep batting for as long as possible, well into tomorrow.
Don't really watch cricket as I don't know enough about it. The ashes is a bit like Wimbledon in Tennis. Compulsive viewing if you know what I mean.
Aleem Dar is usually a superb umpire, but he had a shocker with that Broad decision. Can't really blame Broad for not walking, as the Aussies have had the "not walking" attitude for as long as I can remember!! Quite good fun seeing the Aussies so wound up! Anyway, the Aussies should remember that Agar should have been given out stumped when he was on only 6......which would have meant that the game was done and dusted by now!
