Well, Had a few(lot) of beers with a few of the lads tonight, call it a pre-leaving party do if you will, the official one's friday but half the ****ers who are coming to that i couldn't give a pigs cock about, framnkly. Anyhoo, we have a fair few ex-pats on here, i wanna know, what do you miss about the motherland, what do ou yearn for? Tonight i was saying, seriously, i'll miss the ****ing fog, and the fact thst people i don't see often are in easy reach. I'll miss the fact that when we were in Chase bar in Newcastle tiight people knew me, and ig i was that way inclined i could b=have beeen balls deep in a 19 year old by ten. I'll miss good ****ing pies, has a scotch steak from Pelaw this afternoon, was ****ing awesome. I'll miss bargirls who know the smutty glint in your eyes, and nudgeys that rape 14 quid then give you ten back and make you feel a hero. Most of all, i'll just miss the fact that this won't be England...... Ex pats of the board, what's your craic, what do you miss....
And did those feet in ancient time. Walk upon England's mountains green: And was the holy Lamb of God, On Englands pleasant pastures seen! And did the Countenance Divine, Shine forth upon our clouded hills? And was Jerusalem builded here, Among these dark Satanic Mills? Bring me my Bow of burning gold; Bring me my Arrows of desire: Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold! Bring me my Chariot of fire! I will not cease from Mental Fight, Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand: Till we have built Jerusalem, In Englands green & pleasant Land
Ha Ha. One of the horrific side effects of moving to Marbs is that i'm going to have to hand pick 8 lasses to PR my night.... They won't look like horses.
Ha, I've had a few people say that funny enough... I plan on keeping a video diary one here, so stock up on Kleenex.....
Ha. It ain't luck mate, it's bravado... i may fail on this, but i had a punt. That's the way i live my life, and 90% turns out alreet. It's not what you have or what you think, it's stepping up and taking a stab. I'm a stabber (not in a syd/osca way mind...)
If I get arrested for stabbing someone tomorrow I'll hold your inspiring speech and my idiocy jointly responsible.
Ha ha. I meant the kind of stabbing that leads to an unrelenting release of pressure and the desire to smoke....
not a lot really, sometimes i go back, but after a week or two i think wtf. country has gone to pot. political corectness is extreme, so off i go again, must be a nomad though cos im even getting bored of here now. maybe time to find an atlas and hoy a dart at it, and see where it hits, as long as it's not france im not bothered
You will be fine BB and I want to pick up on your stabber quote, coz I am one and by **** what a ride life can be. To many I now look like a sad aging bastard in my one bed flat with the dog, they don’t get it, right now this is where I want to be. I have had a fantastic life, made a lot and lost a lot but enjoyed every bit, well most of it. One more move left for me, that move to Cyprus to see my days out, I think the next 12 months will see that become a reality. I take my hat of to you and Lucy, very easy to settle for that safe life and nothing wrong with that but not for you mate. Go and capture the world and enjoy the ride, looking at our little community here many have. In my book leaving the safety of your home is a gamble whether that’s to Manchester or Marbella, Luton or Lagos and I admire everyone who takes the chance. Will you succeed BB, no way will you fail mate.
Cheers for the kind words Syd. Facts are i could sit on my arse and have a nice enough life here, we have (had, now i guess) 2 nice cars, a frankly fantastic home, decent income, but at the end of the day, it's just nowhere near enough for us. I guess it comes down to what you want in life and what your prepared to give to get it, when all is said and done, i love England but i hate the lifestyle you are railed into here, even for people with plenty of money and a fair bit of time, the culture of work/home/work/home is not for me, and i'm delighted we've taken the plunge while i've got several good years left in me! We're both sun worshippers as well, so that's a ****ing bonus!
Ha. Tell you what mate, we have 2 lots who have booked their flights already, plus both sets of parents, and my 'other half' in terms of djing is planning on coming over every second weekend, as he's from that London and flights are cheap as piss from Gatwick. Gonna be like a hotel!
Good Luck and all the best over there BB hope you get everything you want. I wouldnt mind to put up with the sunshine love it....... My missus has already started to mention that she would like to return to her country, we bought a house there 2 years ago which Im doing up whenever we travel there.
