Spot on for me this. You don't get better by letting your best players leave. I know he can blow hot & cold but I don't think anyone could have performed well all season (bar mignolet) with the team & set up we had last season. This new season might be a one where he can shine throughout. And if he doesn't then as Roker says we will hopefully have a better pedigree of players to step in for him.

I'm more excited for this season to start than any I can remember in living memory. Never seen the club take on the stance it has at the moment or be linked with the quality of players we are being linked with let alone have a chance of signing them for real.

I do respect their opinions my friend but I can still tell them to **** off, it drives me crazy when people use the "luxury we cant afford" phrase and then after the Mags games the same people were head over heels for the little Benin Bastard, honestly how can you call yourself a fan when Sess has given his all for this club for 2.5 years and may I add conducted himself as a total professional even though it was well reported he was having family troubles and settling in problems.

Just look at life without Sess in the final 3 games of last season, never again please. He offers something no other player has in my life time as a fan.......pure anticipation as he collects the ball and the whole stadium edges closer to the end of their seat.

Long live Sess in a red and white shirt!

Yes we should keep Sessegnon. Definitely. Best footballer we have at the club (I haven't seen any of the newbies so can't comment). He has torn shreds from some of the best in the world playing for us. Vincent Kompany looked like an amateur against him! How many others can we say that about?

He will STILL be the most naturally talented footballer at the club mate, and we'll see it more when he ain't the only one oppo has to worry about.

Same basis, Johnson gets a bit oif space, and he will be a weapon too.

Excited doesn't even start it mate!

I know we got this excited when MON came in, but this time it feels different, there's a feeling we could be on to something. Remember growing up as a kid we watched average players giving it their all but we kind of knew our limitations. Did you ever think you might see this at Sunderland...

    --- Johnson ---- Sessegnon ---- Giaccherini ---

    England international and Premiership winner.

Ex - PSG star and absolute genius.

Italy international coming from starring in a tournament and Seria A winner.

I never thought we would see this, ever. Still seems a tad
surreal. I was doubtful, but more and more, I'm starting to get took in by it all.

    HAWAY THE LADS!

I think for Ellis it was now or sell.

Thank **** he's gone with the former.

Great times, even if it goes tits up, we ****ing had a blast this summer, and we didn't fail through lack of effort, lack of bravery, lack of taking a chance.

If it fails, it'll be glorious failure, and I can live with that.

I've lived with cowardly failure for 26 of my 33 years, so why not!

Keep him, he's one of most skillful players that we have ever had in my 40 odd years of following the lads.
If he had a bit extra pace and had a more consistent end product we would probably have lost him already!
I still have not seen any news of a club making a serious offer for him, Marseille seem to have gone cold and the Chinese rumours have died down. I just hope that Paolo has a decent look at him over the next few weeks and comes up with a plan to fit him in somewhere.
The problem I see is that Sess probably won't be happy coming off the bench as a super sub - one of the reasons for him leaving PSG was to get more time on the pitch.

Put it this way, I'd rather go into the season with Sess, than not having Sess.

Yes the added quality will mean we see the best of him. I would do everything we can to keep him. Sell larsson and cats instead.

None taken Danny and for the sake of 3 points I hope you're right mate......assuming that Sess gets a start in the first game of course ;)

If the coaches can teach him to release the ball sooner to a better placed team mate and stop running into cul-de-sac's full of opposition defenders, I might change my opinion of him. Until then.......
