    Check the 'broadband' or 'DSL' light on your router. If it's off or flashing then your internet's ****ed and you'll want to call one of my lovely colleagues on 606101. If it's solid green then it's fine and I'd suggest trying another computer/device.

    People get internet issues occasionally, but it's very rare that whole areas are affected at a time and almost unheard of that an entire ISP such as Karoo would 'go down'.

    Yes*, but it's much better than the national ones anyway**. I know I'm biased, but it really is.

    *There's a few alternatives, but they're ****.

    **Although the lack of serious competition does mean it's a bit expensive.

    KC/Karoo is both your line-provider and ISP - is that right?

    Here, the line is BT and my ISP is (Hull's own) Axis Telecom.

    A lot of people would be surprised about the amount of choices you have. For those living in Hessle or barton have the option of KC, BT and talktalk.
