You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Tina again

anyway most of our lot don't have any rep (or just no one likes them)

Not sure what you're trying to say there mate, but I guess it bodes well for me that when you're sad enough to dig around for something incriminating in my post history, that's the best you can come up with.

Not saying we will, but I'm saying we can.

Most of us have been pretty stoical about losing Vic.

McGeady was the most important sale we have had in years. He funded phase one of this project.
A team was built on that and Victor augmented that a year later. The lads we have brought in already this year may possibly be as a result of thinking we were going to lose a couple to big money buys.

The CL this year was probably phase 2. Making us an attractive proposition as offering CL fitba and developing players.

Maybe one or two more "project" players can bring us on again. Getting there again is maybe the next step to show it wiznae a flash in the pan.

Porto is the model, I think we are sort of accepting of it and it has taken a bit of time for us to adjust to that way of thinking.....

If you are talking great in comparison to the mega zillionaires, then we can punch above our weight on one off occasions, but the gap is greater now than when Porto did it.

I think we should have given you 12.5m for whoever picked up wanyama for under a million a couple of years back.

We've not done that sort of business for a while.

Bale, Oxlade Chambermaid, Walcott..... Disregarding the Premium on English players, Southampton are amongst the best at it.

That isn't the plan any more. The aim of the new plan has to be European success. Otherwise why bother, which is Tina's point.

Getting to a position where our coefficient is good enough and sustainable enough where we don't have to go through qualifying rounds for the CL is when we can start to think about trying to be great again.

We need a hand with the coefficient though. The other scottish teams seem unlikely to contribute greatly for the foreseeable.

Anything at all would be great. Results in the Europa are worth as many points as CL ones.

More lobbying to make the champions league actually a competition for the champions of each country would help.

Different situation really. I think Walcott is the only one we paid for out of that lot and it was about £7k when he was 11

Schneiderlin is the closest we've had recently, we paid £1.2m under Rupert Lowe and it took four years after that before he got his first taste of premier league football.

Paulo Gazzaniga might be the next, but he'll have a job on to displace Boruc and it's not clear if the manager rates him.

Fair point. You'll make money on Victor I'm sure.

I was a little upset that he didn't go to a higher ranked club as I thought it may show off how well we can develop players but on reflection it is as likely he can do that starring for you guys as an Arsenal or the likes. He's a superb prospect and for £12.5m you can have the chant as well.
