Mods were already all over it, editing deleting etc, like you say it would have been closed eventually, so i just did it

Doubt it very much, don't get carried away on your beliefs mate..... Sometimes you have to let things roll, but now seeing as you are a mod now, you have no reason to answer anyone's quibbles, just do it...Just don't become unpopular.
The thread needed closing as soon as cannylad got involved. Not sure why it was started in the first place as it was only ever going to turn out one way.
Point taken, a few posts had already been modified (sure sid will back me up on this) you could see where it was heading, with new posters aswell, didnt want certain beliefs to make anybody not want to talk footy

Just don't let your personal opinions influence your views, that thread was harmless, and if you close one as soft as that, you make a rod for your own back, i hope that you carry on this rather hard line, imo. There is a fine line, and i don't mean to be be rude, (you rushed into things there)... But you are still one of my favourite posters on here, you remind myself of me, when i started, prolific, but it wains.
