Perhaps Robbie can explain why Jimmy Jones resigned from his high profile position on the NCFC board - this article doesn't make it clear. If anything, it serves to muddy the waters still further! Rest of article here: http://www.pinkun.com/home/jimmy_jo...d_controversial_era_at_norwich_city_1_1333155
Why not also quote and highlight the next paragraph in the article cromer, which since you didn't, I will: "The whole board, including Sir Arthur, stood down over the controversy. Only two members survived when the new team of directors was announced in January 1986, Mr Chase becoming chairman and Mr Jones being appointed vice-chairman later the same year". I do not know any details of the controversy over the contract. However, since Jimmy Jones and Robert Chase were the two board members to "survive", it would appear that whatever prompted Mr Jones to resign it was not anything to do with Robert Chase. Whatever the issue was, it proved the downfall not of Robert Chase but Sir Arthur South. "Muddies the waters"? Yes, for anyone who thinks everything is crystal clear and the familiar mantras about Chase embody the whole truth.
So why contribute yet another example of pure innuendo and more "nudge, nudge, wink, wink"? As I said a little earlier before cromer addressed a direct question to me, I see no point in carring this on, so that really is it from me. Please don't read anything into my not responding other than the reason I have just given.
All I will say Robbie is you are lambasting everyone for conjecture without any proof, could not the same be said of you from the opposite standing?
Very true, if you can provide categorical evidence that he ran the club with its - rather than his best interests at heart, I'll happily concede defeat. "Where's the money gone, where's the money gone?" to the tune of 'Chirpy chirpy, cheap cheap' used to take the roof off the Barclay. And robbie is saying each and every one of them joining in was wrong??
Which is fair enough if it ever went to court, anything in the public domain is always going to have people forming their own opinions, the main problem with judging Chase is all his positive stuff was overtaken in the end by what appears to be self-gratification!
i have no evidence, none at all. it's pure gut feeling mixed with a bit of fantasy. but it seems i am not the only one with suspicions.
I think you will find that the connection between Carters and NCFC goes back to Sir Arthur South and was a relationship beneficial to both parties over many years when you add in maintenance contracts as well as major contracts. Anyway I am now off on another Golf/drinking break but will be back to annoy you all next Tuesday.
God help me! If people cannot distinguish between someone saying "unproven" and someone saying "innocent", there's no hope for us even on an internet forum.
He wasn't Kevin Drinkell's favourite person. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city-fc/drinkell_s_anger_at_chase_1_709563
Can we really believe a word from robbie after he stated quite clearly; "As I said a little earlier before cromer addressed a direct question to me, I see no point in carring this on, so that really is it from me. Please don't read anything into my not responding other than the reason I have just given." He's as bad as Robertt "he definitely will not be sold" Chase! Bah!
Blimey. At my age it is a miracle if it sticks up and if it does I have to use it quickly - bit embarrassing in Tesco's! Any time wasted on foreplay and the little buggar goes back to its day job of watching my shoes. See you all next week.
