    Morning Everyone,

McDermott has stated that there will be no new players arriving at Elland Road until they return to the UK. I wonder whether our supposed double swoop has slipped through our hands? Lets hope not...

Our latest pre season friendly saw us comfortably beat a Slovianian XI 1-3 as Matt Smith, Noel Hunt and Dominic Poleon eased us to victory. After the game Poleon was given special praise by McDermott. Wouldn't it be great if Poleon could follow Byrams lead from last season....

Leeds remain 14/1 to win the league, and 14/1 to be relegated. How many times are bookies wrong? Is the play offs our best hope to go up to the Premiership?

Until we play some decent opposition nobody has a clue how good we might be next season. On another note I see Brighton have signed Upson so he is one we can cross off

    Morning Ristac,

That's a shame. I'd have loved to see him in a Leeds shirt.

Am I the only one that didn't want us to sign Upson? He wasn't particularly good even at the height of his career, I think there have been much better options out there to him

So Smith scores 3 goals in 90-minutes and yes against poor opposition, but you need to be in the right place and take your chance. Hunt scores too so still optimistic although I still don't get the diamond formation scenario as it will leave half our squad surplus to requirements.

BMD sounds like he has new player(s) lined up for when he gets back, so should also mean he's made up his mind about who he can let go ......

Morning all. Not sure Upson would really have taken us that far forward. On incomers, from what I heard last night, BMD is still working on a couple more. Its just taking time to sort them out. At CB, we now only have Lees, Pearce, & Peltier at a push. Probably worth us getting one more, and maybe a definite wide player. For me given the current size of the squad, that should suffice. Will be more interesting to see who leaves and who goes out on loan, either to develop as a Leeds player or who is surplus to requirements.

Morning all. Pre season going nicely so far, all positive. Poleon could just be the surprise package we need him to be this season, but his playing time will probably be dependent on who else McD signs. We know one of the seven targets has gone elsewhere due to wages, so will be interesting to see what happens with signings when McD returns from tour. Same price to win league as relegation? Think it shows bookies aren't sure about Leeds.

Morning all. I suppose we'd take a playoff position now if offered, but personally feel the division may be even weaker this season than last. In that case, no reason why, with another couple of quality signings, we shouldnt be challenging for a top two spot. To be honest, given our record at Wembley, we all know we wouldnt have a chance in hell of winning playoffs. Next six weeks in transfer market will tell a big story for us. If we keep our gems and add a couple more, well challenge auto, sell any of the gems and only make average signings, we'll be mid table, simple as

Morning Mighty. Only time will tell. But if we hold on to Byram and McCormack in particular, I think we could be a real handful for many sides in the PL. Really can't see us being anywhere near relegation this year. The playing style of pass & move with the ball on the floor is in itself likely to guarantee a top 10 finish nevermind anything else.

One thing's for sure, we will finish comfortably ahead of the 'Wall this season.

I think this season will be tougher

    1) QPR plenty of cash and arry
Don't discount Bolton this time or Blackpool or Blackburn as all have huge parachute payments. Watford, Brighton, Birmingham, Forest and Foxes and more. The longer we leave it to get out the tougher it gets. Reading have cash and huge parachute payments and an ambitious new owner

    Morning Boggers morning all <cheers>

as you say time will tell you certainly wont be relegation fodder but a strong top 6 side you are still far from being (IMO) but maybe BMD has a bit up his sleeve <ok>

If we play footy the way the fans want - on the floor as opposed to hoofball -, our fans will be worth a point or three, especially at ER. As many have found out, it's not always money that matters, its what you do with it. Ask Leicester. They had shedloads of money available last season, & I don't think they even made the playoffs. Watford won't be able to play a whoe raft of Italian imports on loan this season. So we'll see.

Whatever happens, we're certainly in for a better ride under BMD than we were under Colin.

Apart from the banter on here, I now have even more reason to enjoy the 'Wall's performances this season. My new work colleague is a 'Wall fan. So banter in our Office first thing on a Monday promises to be lively; even more so if Leeds have won well yet again and the 'Wall have relied on a Leeds reject to get them out of a hole and scrape another dodgy 1-1 boring draw.

From where I am standing, you look to be sitting at Elland's boot, wagging your tail with a stick in your mouth. How's Millwalls pre-season going? All satisfactory?

I met Steve last week in London and he said he would like us to get Chaplow said he did well for us in the short time that we had him <ok>
As for Morrow jury is out at the moment but he is happy with us so i am quietly expecting him to do the business. If we can get Waggers then we will be very strong up front <ok>

    <laugh> No you wont <ok>

You doing the dream team comp again this year? What was you doing in London? I'd imagine the convo you had with Lomas would have been a very different one this time last year <cheers>
