By Darren Lewis QPR ready to sell Adel Taarabt following bust-up at their pre-season training camp 10 Jul 2013 22:29 Moroccan has been fined and sent home after allegedly turning up late and annoying boss Redknapp with his attitude Queens Park Rangers will listen to offers for Adel Taarabt after fining him and sending him home from their pre-season training camp. The Moroccan forward allegedly turned up late for training and is understood to have angered boss Harry Redknapp, who is trying to build a team to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt, with his attitude. Taarabt's fine is his latest in a string of disciplinary problems for the troubled 24-year-old. He was fined over £60,000 by Redknapp in May for being late to training and refusing to take a routine weight check. QPR owner Tony Fernandes said last week: "Players and agents are going to see a very different Tony Fernandes. Those who are committed, honest and loyal will see the same. "I will be in charge of player fining system. Four already fined. No one - no one - will take us for a ride anymore. Patience is over." QPR have already offloaded defender Chris Samba and striker Djibril Cisse. They have also offered striker Loic Remy to clubs in the Premier League and are set to listen to offers for Brazil keeper Julio Cesar. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...ansfers-adel-taarabt-up-2043642#ixzz2YgJc4On6
Taarabt sent packing by QPR after bust up with Redknapp (who wants to replace him with Parker) By SAMI MOKBEL PUBLISHED: 22:33, 10 July 2013 Adel Taarabt’s future is in major doubt after he was sent home from the club's pre-season training camp in Devon. Furious manager Harry Redknapp told the Moroccan to pack his bags after turning up late for a training session ahead of the friendly against Exeter on Thursday. Taarabt was already on thin ice with Redknapp after falling out of favour with his boss towards the end of last season. Temperamental: Adel Taarabt's days at QPR appear numbered And the forward's latest misdemeanour could be the final nail in his Loftus Road coffin, with the club eager to get Taarabt off their inflated wage bill. Meanwhile, QPR are continuing with their attempts to persuade Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker to step down a division. Redknapp wants to sign the England international, but it is understood Parker fears playing in the Championship will ruin his chances of playing in next summer's World Cup. As I said on the other thread, I have zero sympathy. I don't care who the player is, you have to have rules. If Adel can't abide by the rules, it is time to part ways. That comes from somebody who has defended him to the hilt up to now. He is a fantastic player and I will always remember the joy I got from watching him but Harry is right in this instance. Somebody who sticks two fingers up to authority has to be dealt with. Not sure about the "club eager to get Taarbabt off their inflated wage bill" bit. I would have thought Adel would have been about an average paid player compared to some of the others.
Time for him to go now, he's 100% certain to end up a wasted talent and I'd rather he did it somewhere else. He's a fat fool, with no respect for anyone or anything! He's not a great player, he's a player who could have been great. But he doesn't have the mental capacity to realise his potential. It's nothing new, happened thousands of times before and will again. He suffers the same way Bendtner does, delusions of grandure, and the belief that the footballing world owes him something he has never earned!! Goodnight and goodbye, taraabt has left the building.......
Let us not be hoodwinked into thinking others are the problem! Only one person is responsible, and that's taraabt.........
I'm with you, indiscipline and poor attitude we cannot tolerate anymore, no matter who the player is. Not a huge saving on wages but big loss of potential creativity on the pitch. Look on the bright side, we can put in a bid for Townsend with the proceedings now.
I was with you Q,and got regularly slagged off for saying that Taarabt contributed little to your cause overall.Anyway, good luck for the new season The Championship is a decent division and I think the R's will be there or thereabouts come the end.
Fine him, discipline him and make him tow the line Don't see why it would automatically mean we have to sell him?
I think that there are two reasons/explanations behind this. 1. The guy is a complete knob and acts the just way he wants - just like a 14yo. 2. The guy acts like a complete knob because he wants out and thinks that by acting up he will be offloaded. There could be a third option ... which is a mixture of the above two. A complete knob who wants out. I am of the opinion that although he is a wonderfully talented footballer he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and is overly influenced by his agent/manager/hanger-ons. I don't think that any manager will be able to cope with him unless, like his time under Warnock, the whole team has to make sacrifices and everything revolves around Adel. Time to move on.
You only need to look as far as Balotelli for a comparison here.Taarabt was always capable of moments of brilliance that could be game changing.Sadly for your team they were always insufficient to outweigh the huge downside represented by his petulance and potential to disrupt the side.Players of his type are maddenigly frustrating and 'arry has clearly been subjected to the same pressures that saw Mancini have his spats with the firework boy.Taarabt in my kitchen,Balotelli in my bathroom = Bedlam!
Agree completely. The facts are that he has shown indiscipline and been punished. All else is speculation. I for one would like to see this turned around. Wouldn't it be great to be reading a review in April next year that reflects back on this event as the catalyst to the best season yet. Stranger things have happened. Returning to the facts of the matter. I think this approach is very clear and lays down the ground rules. It calls any player out on any matter of discipline. Gone is the season of the tail wagging the dog.
Or the story is false of course ... just theatre and a bunch of you as usual swallow it ... Adel Taarabt finest footballer to wear the shirt
