I was apprehensive of Shelvey, but the lad looks a VERY good player.

Agree Never, early days with Laudrup but previous experience will stand him in good stead plus now playing with a team which thrives on possession and passing will I believe take the pressure off him and allow him to thrive. I feel it will be an Allen situation in reverse in so much as Joe had to work harder at Loserpool as they seemed a step slower than us, so maybe this will give JJ a bit more time in possession to do in the Premiership what he has shown he is capable of on the tour so far. Saturday will be the test.

Looks good, but the opposition was of piss poor quality. But agree early signs look good.

Agree the opposition was poor, but the lad did look a tidy player, might be our find of the season!!!

Have to be honest and say that I was never against his signing as I said on a couple of threads - felt he would give us some energy and drive in midfield. The only thing that concerned me when he did sign was the size of the fee. However, if he continues to improve on his impressive start, perhaps the fee was about right after all. Might even be a bargain.

One thing I really liked was that he laid into Poz during the game for giving away the ball cheaply. In front by a handful, yet hungry for more and better. That shows a winner's mentality and he'll do for me.

I was probably one of the few Jacks who was happy when we signed Shelvey. I've always rated him and thought he'd fit in with our team. In fact a few years ago I bought him for Swans on Fifa and he was our outstanding player. If he's half as good as he was for me on Fifa then he'll be brilliant!

Far to early to tell but I'm feeling optimistic about him!
