    My workplace is mainly women so footie chat is hard to come by and I've failed on countless occasions in conversation.

    Woman A: I support Man Utd
    Me: Why?
    Woman A: I saw them on telly when I was on holiday in Spain and fell in love.
    Me: ...

    Woman B: I support Man Utd
    Me: Why?
    Woman B: Christiano Ronaldo is lush

    Woman C: I support Liverpool
    Me: Why?
    Woman C: They won the Champions League and Gerrard is great

    Woman D: I support Tottenham
    Me: Why?
    Woman D: Always have, don't know why.

    <doh>

    Mind you, the blokes are just as bad, a Chelsea fan and an Arsenal fan, both local, neither with any real reason to support them.

    Does my head in when people only 'support' a club for bragging rights, it's destroying the tribalism that makes football so exciting.


    I managed to convince Woman B to support Newcastle once Ronaldo left Man Utd since she said Taylor was hot. Shallow reasoning but a conversion nonetheless. <ok>

    It was probably a mistake to listen to this stupid bitch at work. now i'm gonna have to listen to the rest and its gonna have me wound up so tight that i'm likely to KAYO the receptionist or something just to blow off some steam.
