Here ya go Tommy. Reports in Switzerland are saying that Grasshopper midfielder Izet Hajrovic could move to England this summer. He is apparently being tracked by Premier League new boys Hull City - who sent scouts to watch him in action against Red Star Belgrade. It was posted at 2.27pm Tommy.
It shouldn't require much encouragement to get him to sign. Even if it only means he never has to play in that pink strip again!
Cheers RT, wasn't doubting the OP, just wanted to read it for myself. He looks pretty good and if his brother is available on a free (he was at Arsenal for ages), maybe he could come in as a squad player, although his only experience is a short stint at Barnet. We wouldn't need a work permit either as he holds a Swiss passport. Just hope Grasshopper don't want too much for him. Can't imagine he'd cost more than Austin would've.
He's young, got the talent, the pace. But I'm not sure whether we need a right winger (because thats the position he played the whole last season). He scored 8 goals last season, which is decent for a winger, but that was in the swiss league. It would be a quality signing, but not one we really need imo.
Ah yeah, it's not in the EU is it. Still, they're ranked at a decent level internationally, so I doubt there'd be much of a problem. Do teams in the Premier League get more leniency with work permits or is it the same for the leagues all the way down? If Bosnia and Herzegovina would hurry up and join the EU, it would all be moot anyway! What are they piss arsing about at down there? They only had to change a couple of rules...
As a swiss myself, I'm quite sure he would need a work permit, as you lot did not sign the Schengen-treaty. But I can hardly imagine it being a problem with a swiss passport...
Looks a real prospect, not sure where he'd fit in though, maybe the attacking midfielder in a 3-5-2 or one of the attacking 3 in a 4-2-3-1 with all players switching throughout the game etc...
Transfergeruchten ‏@TransferGer 9 Jul Hull City A.F.C. denkt aan de komst van Izet Hajrović. (Blick) Article in Blick
to be honest OLM its not much clearer in english!! Basically we had a scout watching him on saturday. He only came on for the last 23 mins and didnt do a lot as his team lost 1-0. The scout goes back to watch Rackerer Amir Abrashi in the next game. As clear as mud!!
Wire-rimmed glasses, white hair - and a notepad in hand. The end-fifties, who on Saturday at the Uhrencup at GC vs.. Red Star Belgrade is sitting in the stands of the stadium Grenchner Bruhl, is first frustrated. The object of his desire may only take place on the bench for the new GC coach Michael Skibbe. The English-speaking official has come to Izet Hajrovic to take (21) under the microscope. His employer is Hull City. The club from the east coast of England (nickname: The Tigers) has just been promoted to the Premier League - and sharp on the left foot of GC. The tiger, which also ex-Nati-and GC-Eldin Jakupovic goalie is in the squad have yesterday started the training for the new season. Unfortunately for the Hull City Spy: Hajrovic comes last Saturday in the 0-1 defeat against Red Star only for the last 23 minutes. And has few ball contacts. Also Abrashi Intent VIEW learned: But the man of the island midfield Rackerer Amir Abrashi (23) is noticed. And: The Spy comes again today to Grenchen. In the second game of the Uhrencup GC meets Fortuna Dusseldorf (19.30 clock). Hajrovic to play away (against St. Gallen Sunday) according to coach Skibbe at the last test before the start of the Championship opener. As Captain Vero Salatic, the last Skibbe spared due to calf problems. The Tigers are keen on Hajrovic. GC Winners' Cup after losing Steven Zuber (for about £ 5 million to CSKA Moscow) is now also the second part of his wingers? So basically, if there is any truth in this we won't hear anything until after this weekend when our scout watches the player play against St. Gallen. Like I say, I hope this comes off because the lad looks really good to me.
It would be worth signing him to listen to Burnsy and Swanny getting tongue tied trying to pronounce his name
According to the Blick, we are not interested in Hajrovic anymore. Apparently his performance in a friendly against Düsseldrof did not convice our scout. Headline: "Poor performance: Hull are not interested in Hajrovic anymore" Hajrovic said: "I know I wasn't good. And I know Hull City withdrawn their interest. But it's hard to attract attention when the team is playing badly." (what?) Sauce: http://www.blick.ch/sport/fussball/superleague/hull-will-hajrovic-nicht-mehr-id2370667.html
