http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/pre...n-news-adomah-to-ask-bristol-for-transfer.php If this is true it means financially we would be better off from any deal - no loyalty bonuses etc to pay Does anyone know if there is a sell-on clause with Barnet? I had a vague recollection that it was a tribunal, so probably not?
20 % sell on for Barnet but sportsdirect news???? whats next? I don't think it concrete, I will believe when the bbc or sky sports is running the story
Mike 'Pieman' Ashley is the geezer at Newcastle who owns Sports Direct. There is an air of inevitability about this rumour really. This may start a bit of a bidding war if it is true.
There is a sell on clause on any profit made and we bought him for next to nothing which is why City want above market price so once we pay barnet their share we are still getting a decent amount for him. No different Swindon wanting more money from us recently when we bought their player.
There is nothing anywhere else so far saying Albert has asked for a transfer and the article says only that Albert is ready to ask for a transfer to join Wigan which as Palace, Cardiff and Reading are supposed to be interested in him I find very odd why want to join Wigan when one of those other three would seem to guarentee him Premier league football 2 are there and Reading look a better bet to return than Wigan.
and to quote "Barnet could have been forgiven for thinking they deserved significantly more from Bristol City for Albert Adomah. At first sight the £150,000 compensation set by a Football League tribunal does seem a bit low. The Bees received bigger bids than that from clubs interested in buying the winger when he was under contract at Underhill. However, Barnet will get an extra £200,000 once Adomah has made 75 appearances for the Robins and another £100,000 if they get promoted. The 20 per cent sell-on clause could also be very useful, should the winger go on to sign for a big Premier League club. " so if the sell on with only for a prem team then selling to Cahmpionship club wigan would be a good thing
I think that we'll end up selling for cheap if Adomah puts in a request. Wigan don't have any cash, and I can't see many others wanting to bid over £1M for Adomah, so I reckon that's what he'll go for. If it were up to me, I'd sell him for £1M plus a player.
It was almost inevitable that at some point he was either going to ask for a move, or that someone would come in with an offer that was acceptable to the board. Lets hope that if he leaves that it's done asap and with the maximum amount of money coming to us. Anything less than £1m, preferably £1.5m really isn't good business for us.
I just have a feeling that Reading might be his destination Barnet will have had their extra 200K for appearences and if you think about it anything over a Million still shows a decent profit even after giving Barnet 20% I think that was 20% of sale to anyone, it was hopeful that he would go to a big Premier club as that would mean a bigger fee usually. It also depends on if it says 20% of profit or 20% of sale it is usually of profit as if you sell someone for less than they cost it would be really annoying to have to give the origional selling club part of that sale price as well.
EnderMB you say Wigan dont have any money but they would have enough to bring in Albert given their performances in teh cup last season and the fact that in teh last month 3 of their players have left and joined Everton, think Kone went for about £5m and im sure McMannaman will sell for decent money once he goes so would say out of all the Championship clubs they have the money to rebuild, like we are doing in league one
@alidurdenBBC The facts are Albert Adomah has not handed in a transfer request, however I understand his agent has suggested he is going to in next 24 hrs he had the same agent as Bolasie didn't he looks like he doing the same trick to us again and has already leaked the story before the player have handed in a request.... AGAIN I fecking hate agents
True, but we've already rebuffed a £800k bid. A lot of fans on here are talking about crazy sums like £2.5m for him, which Wigan simply won't pay. It sounds like Adomah wants to force a move to Wigan to stay in the Championship and improve his chances of being in the Ghana squad for the World Cup, which is perfectly reasonable, but it means that Wigan aren't going to go anywhere above £1m. A player swap deal would be ideal, because it stops some of that cash going to Barnet. No offense, but we've been hurt by sell-on deals with Maynard before, so it'd be great if we can just land a decent player or two from Wigan.
Sorry Player swap deals are covered in the rules on sell on clauses they take into account the value of the player being transfered in as well as the cash deal.
presuming all concerned have accepted that he"s leaving, would the player and his agent kiss goodbye, to a percentage of any transfer fee by asking for a move?
