Does come across as a prat in interviews, but honestly - saw one of them after his QF match I think, the questions he was being asked were cringe worthy.

I was thinking 'is this bloke actually taking the piss?' - I would of lost my temper with the prick, so understand Murray seems sharp and uninterested at times.

Cracking win though - and to donate that amount of cash to charity is very admirable. Saying 'oh yeah but he'll earn x amount through different things' is completely irrelevant. Didn't have to donate **** all, especially not that sort of amount.

I know, but I still can't abide him. I'm already bored of hearing about it and it only happened yesterday <laugh> Detracts from The Ashes as well.

But if we claim him as British now not only do we get a double grand slam and Olympic champion...it also winds the Jocks up too <laugh> bonus

Now let's go smash some Aussies <ok>

  8. Quite ironic that the England cricket team consists of non-English players...?

I suggest you try living in Scotland for a while and getting a bit of national pride.

How apeshit do you think the Jocks go for an Englishman? A 7-yr old kid was punched by a grown adult in Aberdeen during the 2006 world cup for wearing an England shirt.

When Murray said he'd be supporting anybody who played against England in the world cup I actually started to like him a little because that's how it should be. I wouldn't support Scotland in anything, in a very Scottish way.

They changed their national anthem but that wasn't enough; they then changed the words from the original "Proud Edward's Army" to, "The English bastards." That's what Jocks sing at New Year. And if you're there, they'll spit it into your face. That's what my own Jock mates did to me and I'm a mate they actually respect. Imagine what they'd do to a snivelling, arse-kissing English muppet like you.

Try substituting every reference to Scotland or Jocks with Pakistan and Pakistanis. See how that sounds.

Oh it sounds bigoted, racist, discriminatory and downright idiotic?

That's because what you said is the biggest pile of garbage I've ever heard.

You are by far and wide the worst poster on this board, you're of the belief that being angry and rude make you right when in fact you come across as a funny combination of arrogant and yet completely and utterly clueless.

(By the way, if a couple of Scots who you see as 'friends' spat on you. Then that's made me even more fond of Scotland than I was before).

  13. Who gives a **** if a few/some/most/all scots hate us? Hating them back achieves what exactly? I always thought it was a case of Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland and R.Ireland never wanted to see England do well but the English liked to see the other home nations do well if it wasn't to the misfortune of England? #raiseaboveit #bethebetterman

There is one on every board... (I joke)

In all seriousness though MFG has been a servant to the forum a long time and his role in my view is to balance out the positive over-hype drivel with negative pessimistic based drivel. Generally this provides a more accurate view for each random topic on these forums. However That fact that I personally always disagree with him is irrelevant.

Honestly though.. If pride for my country meant to go around and hit children from neighboring countries in face, then I'd rather such pride was not expressed publicly at all :cheesy:

  15. I would have agreed to that about a year or so ago but he's not really a "regular" so to speak any more. Yes, he comments fairly regularly but its not in a discussion or debate, he comments and ****s off <laugh> Further more, his comments are so far beyond nowadays that a lot of the current regulars believe he is on one rather large wum <ok>

It's largely a front....well maybe not with Hash lol. From an NI point of view you'll get one side being pro RepI and anti NI and English, not so much anti Scottish maybe because they are Celtic fans. The other side are pro NI and Scotland as well as Rangers fans....the anti English stuff is funny but split personality with this side:

I remember being in the Bot(Belfast pub) with six friends during the England/Argentina match (Beckham penalty) we listened to a big corner of the bar sing anti English songs for about 20 mins, being pissed thought feck it stood up and started a rendition of "Engerland" thinking we're going to get a smack but were fecked off at why you'd go to the trouble of going to the bar to be anti a team; next thing the entire bar (bar that corner) were standing singing with us.

So it's more a who hates who more at the time lol.

Personally I go for all the teams unless NI is playing them. I believe I have more in common with the home nations than Spain or brazil...etc

On the other side many of my English friends tend to be very anti Scottish & anti welsh though...

    <laugh>

Some would cling to success in any form, still no Englishman has won Wimbles since when? Of course many will cling to any sort of reflected glory<ok> Andy is Scottish of course though it is a good idea to call him British to someone transfer the glory to England which is essentially what calling non English winners British is all about.

National pride gets binned just to grab at another nationality's success.

Quite a few Irish people have been claimed as "one of their own" by the English media during times of success<doh>
