Not really Captain, but he's said to be "regarded as a carbon copy of Michael Essien" please log in to view this image Rabiu playing for Ghana An article in Le 10Sport is reporting that his agent is over here having talks with the Club: http://www.le10sport.com/football/mercato/exclu-mercato-rabiu-se-rapproche-de-fulham110288
Charlie Austin's move to Hull has fallen through. http://www.thisishullandeastriding....tory-19494453-detail/story.html#axzz2YWjNfTOt It appears that the problem was something to do with his medical, probably recurring shoulder problems - he's dislocated his right shoulder three times in the last few years, although the most recent was 2011 so it doesn't seem to be troubling him now. At £4.5m, I'd still be tempted to take the risk and go for him.
This from today's Rumour Mill column in the Guardian: Kevin Prince-Boateng could be back in London soon if Fulham get their way. The midfielder has been led to believe that Milan would sell him if the price were right – Swansea and Everton are also interested. Meanwhile, a week after terminating his contract at Waregem in the hope of securing a switch to the Premier League, Junior Malanda is reported to have fallen off Fulham's radar.
don't know how consistent he is, but KPB certainly not a bad player don't think he is a traditional CM, plays more in the hole. if it's a genuine story then his relationship with Jol from Spurs might come in handy
Indeed, he would be probably the dream signing. Didn't we show interest when he was with Pompey? Suspect he's got his sights on Championship football though. Meanwhile, on the more mundane left back position we are reported as thinking about Sunderland's Phil Bardsley. Fulham are reportedly in a battle with Sheffield Wednesday to sign Sunderland's out of favour full-back Phil Bardsley. The 28-year-old Scotland international's days at the Stadium of Light were as good as over at the back end of last season when he was publicly criticised by boss Paolo Di Canio after being photographed in a casino late at night as the club battled to avoid relegation from the Premier League. Bardsley has since been left back on Wearside while the rest of the first-team squad flew out to their training camp in Italy which has now opened the door for other clubs to come in for the player who joined in 2008 from Manchester United. Cottagers boss Martin Jol is thought to be looking to entice Bardsley down to London with the promise of Premier League football next season." Source: http://www.clubcall.com/fulham/bardsley-in-jols-sights-1605723.html . Decent enough player and (I think) can play right or left back. But in the "Uhmmm" category.
It's more for illustrative purposes- although I accept a video can be edited to make any player look great- people don't often do that and when they do the irony is pretty obvious. Generally speaking, player compilation videos feature someone half decent- you cant, for example, find a showreel for Steve Sidwell or Kieron Richardson. People can edit things out but they can't make footage up.
Sounds like Mr. "I want guaranteed first team football" Mark Schwarzer is going to spend next year on the bench at Stamford Bridge. I lost a bit of respect for him when I read that, although I don't actually blame a 40 year old for taking the money.
I get what you mean, but even those two players you mentioned, they will at least perform one successful dribble or a successful challenge per game, add ten of those together and they look like a world beater.
To be fair he would probably rather sit on the bench earning Chelsea wages rather than Fulham wages, and the fact that they will be playing so many more games next season in the Champions league group stages followed by the Europa league knockout rounds means that they will probably be rotating more and Mark will have more game time under his belt which is what he said he wanted. That being said I still wished he would've picked another club. But at least he hasn't joined the Fulham retirement home in Loftus Road
Agree about the rotation thing and him probably getting games in early Euro rounds, nick. And Schwarz has always said he needs the games to ensure an Aussie world Cup selection, has always been his aim. I suppose the Chelsea PR people had a hand in it and at least he hasn't started by doing a Benitez, with what he said on signing: "It's a phenomenal club. It's one of the biggest and best clubs in the world, and it's an honour to sign for Chelsea," he told the club's official website. "I didn't take much convincing to come here." I really don't resent him getting his extra year given the performances he, in turn, has given to Fulham over the past years, but that kind of effusive stuff does grate a little.
I reckon he got a very nice signing on fee- it's difficult to find quality backup at a reasonable price plus his age and contract length are perfect for the situation at Chelsea where Courtois is biding his time until Cech is finished. Probably completely off, but I'd guess he got £1/2m signing on fee and £35-40 000 p/w
Well, I was surprised to see him go somewhere that won't give him first team football, but from what he's said in the past first team football was the means towards his goal of playing in another world cup. It's easier to see a player keeping an international place from Chelsea's bench than from Fulham's bench. Perhaps he spoke to his international manager before deciding to take this offer. I don't think he's done anything wrong. He left us because we signed a new first choice keeper and his contract was up. He hasn't trashed us in the media and his comments about Chelsea, much as we might hate to admit it, are fair comment - the are one of the biggest clubs in the world. You wouldn't expect him to sign for them and then say, 'Well, I don't really like Chelsea, but this means I don't have to move house so here I am'. As ever, I'll be hoping Chelsea crash and burn, but if they do end up giving Schwarzer a winners medal to round off his career then I certainly won't begrudge him that.
Absolutely 58, not exactly angry that he's joined Chelsea but his comments upon joining are incredibly irritating. Are you telling me that MS wouldn't be able to find a club this summer that wouldn't guarantee him first team football? Absolute nonsense.
Raibu fancies a move to us, and we're apparently leading the chase. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ielder-Mohammed-Rabiu-favours-move-to-England
The Times and now the Mail are running a story that we have made an approach for Liverpool's £5m rated centre back, Sebastian Coates (pronounced "Co-ah-tez", well according to 'Diddy' David Hamilton). He's 22 but apart from that, can't for the life of me understand why we would be interested at this time, Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2361239/Fulham-ready-make-5m-Liverpool-defender-Sebastian-Coates.html
Wouldn't have been a bad option, but like you say, with Hangeland, Amorebieta, Senderos and Hughes here there isn't much need to blow our budget on a centre back, even if he is under 28...
