Would love Sessegnon but he is much more of an attacking midfielder than the forward we desperately need. I think we could do with another creative spark in midfield to replace Koren though.

I would sooner bring Deano out of retirement than sign Carlton Cole.

Steve Bruce just told Gwilym Lloyd that he has other irons in the fire. Now thats a shocker to start with.

Transfer business is far from finished.

Chelsea game is 5 weeks from sunday.

Whilst happy with the squad so far he has others to add.

Austins knee will only get worse SB has said. Sad very sad for the lad.

God, didn't realise it was that close. I am disappointed that the deal didn't happen today, not to miss out on Austin, just to miss out on a striker. Every cloud and all that, it opens up other options.

Carlton Cole who has represented England at every level?

I spoke to Ashbee last week, based on strikers we've been linked with he said Carlton Cole would be a great option. He could never get close enough to him to kick him, let alone the ball <laugh>

Exactly, anyone who thinks CC isnt good enough for us is deluded. That game we were all over W Ham he came on and totally battered us and we lost 2-0 (i think). We need a battering ram for all the other strikers to play off. If he's willing to come up north, sign him up.

    In order:
    Odemwingie
    C Cole
    Le Fondre
    Rhodes
    Hooper

Any 2 from the top 3 - You need proven PL ability. 2 from Rhodes/Hooper or Gedo on loan.

3 strikers I would be more than happy with.

The problem I see with Carlton Cole is that he's played for England a couple of times, so no doubt now thinks he's entitled to £100k a week.

Also, he doesn't want to come up north.

    I'd be very surprised.

Well, it's what was reported after we'd made a tentative approach, and then backed off.

He was happier to start chatting to QPR and Palace than us though.

I can't FACTOID it, but I can nudge your arm and wink in a knowledgeable way after saying it, which is pretty much as good.

No chance of him making it in English football.
Its a cruel place on the pitch when all the opposing team supporters and some of his own team supporters start chanting 'Rapist' every time he gets near the ball.
He wouldn't be able to handle that.

Personally, if say if we signed Cole he'd be the best forward we have had in our entire history. If you disagree, name me a better one.
