Could this be the chance for Gedo? If he's training with us, will he be included in the squad for the friendlies?
He maybe as part of his rehab if he can handle it. I'm sure Brucey will give him another trial while he's over here, and try get him in the cheap. Get him for 500k or even 1 million and that's proper bargain business IMO, will make a great impact player with his pace, strength and directness.
If we get him for £1m or less, it would be a bargain. He would certainly be a useful addition to the squad and would help create depth and competition in the striker front.
Think he'd make more of an impact coming off the bench rather than starting. If he comes on against tiring defenders for the last 15-20 mins he could definitely change the result of the game
I'm not sure I get this Gedo love in, I didn't think he impressed in the Championship, never mind the Premier League.
I thought he was out for 4 months following his surgery? Might not be as effective with his foot in a sling.
Some of you lot spend far too much time on football manager/ Pro Evo/ FIFA. Please stop the endless dull transfer speculation. You're just plucking names out of thin air.
I think his injury was hampering his ability. His goals were proper poachers goals and his finish against Birmingham was a proper strikers finish. I'd be more than happy to have him back, but I wouldn't rely on him as our number 1 striker. We need to get 2 in before we think about loans.
Finally! I thought I was the only one. 5 goals in his first 5 games did it for the fans, he could do no wrong after that despite some pretty poor performances. If we can get him for 500k then he'd be solid back up, any more and there's better options out there.
I don't, I said I think. But it doesn't take a genius to see that the more he played, the more sluggish he got. He was hardly **** in the games he scored goals in and the injury could have flared up because of anything; it could've been on the pitch, in training or he could have gone over on his ankle on his way to where he lived. Even when he was injured he wasn't that bad. It was the same with Fryatt; with the injury to Gedo we had to rush him back and when he came back it was clear he wasn't ready. You wouldn't base Matty's ability on the few games he played at the end of the season so I don't think it's fair to blame Gedo's lack of goals on him being a bit rubbish. Because he isn't.
He said 'I think' not 'I know'. I also liked Gedo, he scores goals, right now we don't really have anyone that does so. I'd have him over any of the other strikers in our squad unless you count Aluko.
I'd take him for 500k but i really don't think he'd cut it in the premier league. He had a good start here but ran out of steam, whether that's due to injury or he was running on adrenaline I'm not sure. Even when he was playing well he didn't look premier league quality.
I'd be happy with him on loan. Even if he's not good enough for the league we could play him in the cups.
That would of course depend on how much Al Ahly would want for him. You're right, if the price stays the same we should offer a small fee to buy him, but on loan at least if he turns out to be cack in the PL, we can just send him back when the loan deal is up.
Agree with this. You could see his ability as a goal-scoring was a cut above our other strikers. People can list all the stats and numbers they want but Gedo can shoot and our other strikers can't.
