Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that I thought they were your words. My comment was aimed at the journo's you referred to
You'll be needing him this season wont you when you have to sell to balance the books. Him and Futacs up front. Lethal
I would just like to say i'm as proud as i am disappointed today, Proud 'cos the club are doing things right Disappointed for Charlie Austin and the management that it fell thru..... Onwards and upwards
I cant wait for a new thread titled 'Austin Deal off!!!!!' to be started tonight by someone just coming home from work / school. Shall we have a sweep on the time? I'm going for 17.47.
I'll have 17.21, that'll give em plenty of time to check their phone on the bus before bursting into their house, chucking their bag down, racing upstairs to be our saviour and breaking the story.
I never knew about this. I saw an interview with him and i got the impression he has a bad attitude and would be unproffesional. Needless to say im glad we havent signed him. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-22759753
Why would anyone outside of Papa and Bruce know the exact sum of our transfer budget, and has already been pointed out the transfer fee is only part of the cost - and I'm certain Papa is going to ensure that we don't overspend, which may be boring for people wanting another "big" name signing. I do feel sorry for Austin as atm he has technically no club as far as I'm aware - and Burnley will make sure his wages are reduced if he does sign a new contract as they have him over a barrel in terms of offering a new contract (as no other club is likely to take the risk). BUT it does show that the club has learnt from the Bullard era and for that we should all be pleased - and as for panicing about no new strikers I'm certain there is a plan B, C, D and possibly even a plan Q for who to sign if transfer fee can't be agreed/wages can't be agreed/failed medical
I think Blyth Spartans are hoping for at least £1m, so I doubt he's an option. Everybody seems to have forgotten Jarahldo-Martin, the gem from Dulwich Hamelet. He'll get 20 next year, call off the search.
Just one of our scouts, I'd never heard of him before he signed. Bruce sounded really excited about him though and I think he played in a couple of reserve games last season, so you'd be better off asking Mussie or one of the lads that goes down there often.
Whoosh............. I wonder what Burnley actually knew about his knee then ? Blown up big time for the Clarets as well. I would rather sign Reg actually.!! The best thing that Austin can do now is stay fit and carry on scoring goals. See out his contract and then he will have many options open to him next summer. Signing a new contract with Burnley is the worst thing he can do atm. Risky but so is life. Blackburn need to vastly reduce outgoings first off. Forget Bolton they dont have any money and why would Rhodes leave Blackburn for Bolton ? As for City being half-hearted in all our approaches ? How does he know and even if we have been a casual enquiry can be classed as half-hearted. Add the 7 Crewe players and we almost have the gang rape team. Hope so as i rate him and when 100% fit is a fox in the box. The predictable reply i expected from you. Whoosh............
