If he'll have a great season at Burnley everybody will say: "Why didn't we sign him up".

If we would have signed him up and he would've had an injury everybody would say: "Why did we sign him up".

It probably is the best situation not to sign him, there must be quite a major problem with his knee...

    Actually you are the Whoosh.....

Maybe but i very much doubt it.

In the highly unlikely event of Blackburn Rovers letting Jordan Rhodes leave for nothing then we would. Never say never. From what has been reported on Rhodes a while back he is reported to have said that he would accept a pay cut to play in the PL. With Blackburn sinking fast financially something will have to give with them at some point sooner rather than later.

Sadly some are doing. I thought that the season did not start until the 17th august.?

Now he would be perfect for a gang rape team. Alledgedly.

Sad about whats happened but the transfer window remains open until the 31st august so plenty of time yet. Bruces has said on talksport that he still wants at least 3 more players signed up. So Patience is required as ever.

Forget Bolton as they dont have a penny to spend. But yes you are qyuite correct in what you posted ^^^^ here.

Would not be my choice but Ian Ashbee has said that he would be perfect for us. Back to Twt as always.

Cole as a FAT and Billy Sharp for £1.2m would be good business actually.

YES. They did appear to be trying to stitch us up on the fee and they must know Austin has a problem. They look like being stuck with Austin now. He is best seeing out his contract - doing what he does best and then getting the move he wants next summer as a FAT.

Oh dear how sad. What a shame for Burnley. Lol.

If true, Bullard 2 has been averted.

    Glad you think so.

I thought it had been reported that Pappa had indicated a war chest of £15M, so far we've used only £6M. I'm not suggesting that we would want, or even need, to spend £9M to bring in Rhodes, but surely our affordability to sign him is unquestionable, unless it's a wages issue, I do seem to recall that high wages has reportedly been an issue previously with regard to Pappa.

So it was Charlie Austin's knee that scuppered move to #hcafc. Steve Bruce seemed genuinely upset for him. Nobody saw it coming until scans.

Mint. That's a perfect partnership with Mboyo then.

There is a difference between having the money and being willing to spend it. Anyway, HDM stating today the budget is closer to £10million.

From what he was saying it seems like the media are intrigued as to what our transfer budget actually is, sounds like they're baffled as to why we're going in for our targets so half-hearted and not just bombing a load of cash like everyone else.

I simply said the club is still scarred from the Bullard-saga.

There is a difference between being cautious and over-zealous though, I'm sure a middle-ground will have to be met at some point.

Daz we've already brought in 3 signings (4 if you count Boyd). I'm not sure why we are considered to be going in half-hearted for targets

I agree, however I read it as our affordability being brought into question, not our will to purchase players, and if we have (approx) £9M left in our war chest then our affordability is unquestionable as I said previously

    McGregor
    Boyd
    Elmo
    Figueroa
    Davies

Our business has been great so far, it's just the strikers we need to tie up.

People need to stop saying bent terms like 'war chest' and 'unearth a gem'.

Not my words. But I think it was meant purely on striker targets who are generally more expensive. I can see why we're doing it though - there is a fine line between being relegated and not from the premier league. You don't need to throw big money at it to survive.

No, only a club like Leicester are daft enough to splurge a seven figure sum on a Non League striker.
