In the midst of this sweltering, sweltering heat
I think we should try to keep cool,
Especially those who have itchery feet
Neither D. Mac nor Hughton´s a fool

We all know by now what his preferences are
Not 4-3-3 or 4-4-2,
But a hungry wolf hunting both near and far
Backed up by a strong midfield crew

So all those who want for striker this or that
I´d say more important might be,
A couple more to bowl ´wolf´ balls he can bat
To fulfill our expectancy

The Leroy Fer link seems exciting to me
As well as Toby whatsisname,
One with a left foot magical to see
And one in the centre-back frame

And as 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1
Is how Hughton prefers to play,
The more good providers we can get to come
The better our chances, I´d say

I´d not expect more than one striker more
To turn up in this summertime,
For no matter how many you have to score
The delivery has to be prime. OTBC - IHIT

I think so Dave, he certainly seems to be looking for a bit more quality in vital areas. Not so sure about this Toivonen though, he seems to be iffing and butting a bit too much for my liking.

True but the Leroy Fer story is being told by several different Dutch sources now! That would be a great signing!

twitter, NCFC facebook, the pink un message board, most are in meltdown because we have sold Holt without a replacement.

we do seem to have a majority of level-headed members on here

Whilst it’s true that the summer is hitting its peak,
And the autumn seems distant at best.
The time will fly by in the blink of an eye
So I’m nervous, if not quite depressed.

Next season is lurking and lying in wait
Like a mugger who’s brutal and vicious.
We need to attack it with guys who can hack it,
Loads out, few in, leaves me suspicious.

But why try to second-guess ramifications?
The thinking’s more chess-like than chequers.
Just trust there’s a plan from McNasty, our man,
For a squad overflowing with “tekkers”

You can add the EDP website to that list of 'fans' fretting cos we've let Holt go without a replacement in the wings!!!

Thank God it didn't say "on the wings"
I see the club currently like a swan gliding on the surface with the hard work being done beneath. Pretty happy that it will come good in the end and I think we sometimes underestimate the quality that we already have on board.

Indeed some do, but Chris Hughton doesn't (as I just now mentioned on the transfer thread). <ok>

´Fraid twitting has never really caught on chez rbf, Super, and as much as I´d have loved to have had Holty stay, it´s hardly the end of the world.

your masterful poetry wouldn't fit into 140 characters rbf, so you'd never be able to get your message across!

as for holty, i wanted him to stay for purely selfish reasons as i think he could have still done a job. the man's a legend but on reflection, maybe it was the right time. at least this way he goes out being remembered as the hero we all loved rather than the sub who kept being overshadowed by a dutchman <ok>

I have to say, Worf, that´s a gem of a rhyme
Popped out in the mid-summer heat,
Don´t be afraid to repeat it sometime
For such will get me off my seat. :) <ok>

High praise indeed from the NCFC bard.
Chuffed to bits with that.
Thanks.

From now on may chip in with a rhyme, from time to time.
