Do you really think he doesn't have players lined up? Just because we haven't heard their name linked doesn't mean they haven't been looked at. Bruce will have a few that we haven't heard linked with us yet. Also, it's only the second week of July - there is still over a month and a half of time left to buy.
Totally agree. It looked likely anyway but we'll almost certainly sign Gedo now. Knowing Bruce I really would also expect a total unknown who hasn't been mentioned previously. He has a 'rabbit out of the hat' approach. Hooper is gone, forget about him.
Our favorite ****er from F365... Nick Miller ‏@NickMillerF365 10m Charlie Austin fails a medical. Paul McShane signs a new deal. If there is a god, Hull fans, I'm afraid he hates you.
I vaguely remember @NickMillerF365, what did he do to piss us off previously? I'm inclined to agree with his tweet.
This: http://www.football365.com/f365-features/8629692/Who-Do-You-Want-To-Be-Promoted- It caused quite a stir if I recall.
Listening to Steve Bruce on Talksport, gives his view on the Charlie Austin and saying three players still to bring in. Just has to go back to the drawing board. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...onfirms-charlie-austin-deal-after-strik-2012?
I guess I'm the only one relieved by this. I've never been that impressed with him and think £4.5m was too much of a gamble. Reckon he'd be like Becchio in the premier league. As someone else said, watch him go elsewhere and hit 15 goals in, but were not in a position to take a gamble with that kind of money specially not where injuries concerned as well. I'd go for Mboyo now, he looks a real gem.
Ha Ha, agents will be queueing up at Steve Bruces door and we'll be fighting them off, £5M war chest and a full prem season on offer.
For those who missed it. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...onfirms-charlie-austin-deal-after-strik-2012?
Exactly. Maybe not a blessing in disguise, but he was costing too much specially as he's only a year left on his contract. I'm sure we can do better for that money. I'd have took Austin at 2/2.5m but no more.
Alex Bruce passed his medical. The question was asked about his record of minutes played over the last 2 or 3 seasons (I understand he had a few spells on the sideline during that time) and whether that was value for money. To be fair to him, he played a lot of minutes last season so SB's judgment was sound.
I do agree to a point, £4.5m for a player in the last year of his contract suggests he's valued at around £10m and there's no way he's that good. There was hardly a host of clubs beating down their door for him, it really did seem we were the only serious bidders and that's pretty unusual so you have to ask why? My onoly worry with this is will other clubs and agents now consider us desperate and suddenley bump up their asking price in terms of fee and salary?
Don't feel sorry for him.He will have been the first to know his shoulder was dodgy. He ,his agent and Burnley were all trying to take us for a ride! But we did sign a blond Boyd.
Oh, for God's sake. How many decent strikers are there in world football? There are all sorts of options - Hooper and Austin are just the tip of the shopping iceberg.
