HDMsport ‏@HDMsport 10m No comment from either club at present but sources say Charlie Austin's £4.5m move to #hcafc broke down on day of personal talks and medical
Hardly. Villa will go for the likes of Hooper maybe or better. I bet it could be the scan results on Austins shoulder if anything. His wages wont be an issue as Austin only earns £12k a week reportedly @ Burnley. But lets wait and see what happens eh ? Plenty of fish in the sea. SSN saying deal is expected to be completed today at the moment.
Marvin Bartleys latest tweet: 'Just had one of the saddest convos with a very close friend, everything happens for a reason though mate!! X' I reckon he failed cos of his 3 times dislocated shoulder. So where the frig does this leave us now?
This could be an issue for Burnley and Austin. If he has failed the medical then it will occur with other clubs. Sad if true but better now than another Bullard situation. We want Austin or ano on the pitch NOT in the stands always injured. Thank god Dufferman is not involved otherwise Austin would be signed up by now on £30k a week and a dodgy shoulder. Steve Bruce will have other options and i bet he is as hacked off as anyone IF the medical is the problem. But everything does happen for a reason. Lets wait and see what happens and TWT. True. SSN saying Villa will reject any request from the player. Benteke still has 3 years left on his Villa contract. I suspect Villa may end up with Odenwingie and or Defoe at some point.
bu**er! this is a big chunk of time with Austin as our number 1 target. disappointing for all concerned.
Yes but better now than in 3 weeks time. Can you immagine what would have happened and been said say Austin gets bundled over, falls on his shoulder and is injured once again @ Ferriby and his shoulder goes again ? Hull City and the medical team would get laughed out of town. I bet it was a tough call but the right one if true. Sad for all of us though. This will impact on Burnley now. Noway will they get anywhere near that fee agreed if the shoulder has issues ?
If it was a medical thankfully it came up now. Can you imagine if it was another glass knees situation?
My point exactly Ellwoods. Unless Burnley take the fee in yearly installments pro-rata on games played then that will be it. HDM say it wont be revived but IF all parties are willing to negotiate all monies properly then it can be. But i doubt it sadly.
As gutted as I am I would have rather had hooper out of the two. Hopefully we will go out and get hooper and maybe try again on Austin in the Xmas window at a reduced price after he has played half a season and proved his dodgy shoulder isn't that bad
I hope it's not a DJ Campbell situation where as soon as he's out of sight for a few minutes, he's on the phone arranging an escape to another club. In this case Aston Villa, who look like losing their striker. If it's his shoulder, than that must be one ****ed shoulder. Still, if it's a major problem then it could be for the best. And if it's wages, then who knows whether it's us being over-careful, or him being over-demanding. How disappointing though.
Not always the case though, Stoke turned down Demba Ba on medical grounds and he went on to big things. Hope we don't live to regret it, but it's not worth the risk.
At least one of his dislocations was before Burnley signed him so their medical routines must be flawed. Ironically he was turned down as a junior by Reading and they have just taken Cardwell from us.
OMG this is a TOTAL disaster. I can't imagine the club and Brucie have got any other options and I bet they haven't been looking at any other strikers too. Now we have no one in the team who can call themselves a striker, and we wont get another in before the window closes! We're going down for sure now!!! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! PS If this story is true, I'm sorry, I think he would have been a good addition to the mighty Tigers, but if he ain't coming, its for the right reasons for us I imagine. Shame but there you go, at least they appear to be running the club sensibly.
