    We are never going to go for Bent, why do people keep mentioning him?

    His wages will be too high, and his match fitness will be poor.

    I didn't for one minute think we would, but without benteke villa are certainties for another relegation fight

    Putting 2 and 2 together, is this to do with the Arsenal bid for Suarez?

    Suarez to Arsenal, or some other club in Europe, and Liverpool then need a striker. Benteke to them?

    Guessing and that.

    Spurs or arsenal I'm guessing

    This morning villa was leaving barca for spurs and without them even making a bid he goes to athletico Madrid so did spurs know benteke was handing in a request.

    The Gonzalo higuain transfer has dragged on nearly as long as the Charlie Austin one, so has it been a smokescreen for benteke. Either way arsene you need 2 strikers!

    I posted this on the Austin thread:

    I hope the Benteke situation doesn't impact on the Austin deal, Villa were publicly supposedly keen on him earlier in the summer.

    It wouldn't be the first time someone has looked set to sign during a medical and then leave. It wouldn't be the first time it's happened to us this year....

    If i were Bent i would be telling Paul Lambert a few home truths. Lambert is a disgrace in the way he treats players he does not want.

    If this happened in the normal work place then Lambert would be done for constructive dismissal.

    I can see a bidding war for Benteke at some point with Arsenal and Tottenham the main players in it.
