This one worries me to be honest. One good season, one year into his contract and he's already handed in a transfer request, he's still young - seems a little Modricesque. I feel sorry for Villa and I'm not sure I'd want a player who acted like that.
Villa will want upwards of £20m as well - and, based on a club report I've read, they want this sorted ASAP so they can get a replacement. Big money and quick negotiations? That rules us out.
If he was at, say, Everton, Liverpool or Swansea etc - I'd be worried but he's playing for a DIRE and I mean DIRE Villa team. I don't blame him for wanting to leave. Ask yourself if you were a player and moved to Belgium - had no particular feelings towards your team - Battled relegation all season and singelhandedly won games - then finished 15th - then knew some of the top teams in the country / Europe were after you but your club refused to sell you for a fair price - would you want to stay or hand in a transfer request? I know which I'd do.
