Our offer was accepeted by Blackpool not Tom.

Tom aparently back from holidays today and sitting down with his dad and Malky to discuss terms/facilities/ambition etc, etc.

If he wants to come here, the door is open, though Liverpool seem to hold something of a trump card of they want to use it - and he wants to go there instead.

It depends whether Rodgers wants him for something like a net £4.5M outlay, or whether they'd just like the approx £3M windfall from their sell-on clause from us instead.

My bet is he'll be with us before the end of the week.

You misunderstood. The more likely real situation is that he is down here dragging out the move for as long as possible -and hoping for a bigger offer from a more established Premier League Team.
If he really wanted to sign for us he'd have done it by now - just depends if somebody else comes sniffing around, and I won't be that bothered if they do. Somebody please gazzump us - £8 million is a lot for a player who has potential, but only had one good season (in a lower division). We could get a faster centre back and a full back more than five feet tall for that money.

If you are standing strong on wages, good on you. The first season is critical and you would be playing very high stakes if you live beyond your future means/plans. Survival is not guaranteed for anyone regardless of expenditure, but ultimately it is the equivalent of a major trophy stability/financially wise.

I had my doubts that he would sign but, If you are saying he rejected us Dai I reckon his signing will be announced by Friday.

 

I haven't seen anything official saying he's rejected us but if he does fair enough that's his choice. It will free up 8 million for another target so in the words of MM, "we dust ourselves down and move on" or was that DJ?
