Why? It's not us dragging our feet it's the selling club. And because of the sums of money involved its got to be exactly right for us! These London clubs as you put it have far more money than us, and if they were to enter the fray it will probably be game over for us.
My statement that you've quoted is not referring to the current Bony situation, but I've taken a view looking back over our transfer dealings for the last three or four years, and some of the technicalities Huw is clearly having difficulties with, and the time scale that we seem to engage is far from perfect, and can't always be blamed on the other clubs. Clearly we won't get every target, but the lost time this pre season with Laudrup's agent and Jenkins, and Laudrup, has not helped, and we have then gone in late and fast, to show we were supporting Laudrup, when for over 4 weeks previous to this, there was nothing but negative brinkmanship, as reminiscent of Sousa saga, I think Jenkins needs some assistance and help, and a professional Negotiator would take some of the pressure of Jenkins! Just my opinion........................

This deal was lined up 6 months ago for £10.2 million. The delay was due to Vitesse changing the goalposts and holding out for more money due to Bony banging 31 goals in 30 games since....they were hoping someone like Liverpool were going to come in and gazump us. There is nothing Huw and the board could have done any better, they read the situation and responded with an improved bid securing Laudrup his top target. You really do make yourself look foolish. Why not just admit you were wrong?
I'm inclined to agree with Terror. Vitesse have not covered themselves with glory here,reneging on a deal is not how to win friends. Hopefully,all will be finalised soon.
It all but done now, the fee was not a problem that i understand as its not being paid all in one go, It was the wages and signing on fee was the issue and it looks as if that has come to an agreement at last......unless there is a last final hitch then bony will be a jack very very soon, he may have already joined up with his new teammates for all we know....now that is what i call a signing of a quality player....im getting very excited now..
But you can't lay everything at Huw's door, most of this is going to be the board making a decision. And the season hasn't even started yet so we have time to revise targets and go to someone else if needed. The transfer window closes end of August I believe, and its only been open 8 days now, and we've signed 7 players in that time.
..which goes to show how much work Laudrup and Larsen put into the deals during the season,it was left to the club to dot the i's and cross the T's something yet is still yet to happen with Bony(though I think he is ours now) Its clear that the club are bending over backwards to make this happen for Laudrup, be honest this whole thing is going totally against how we normally do stuff,usually Huw has told em to **** off by now and moved on to another target,but he has bit his lip and chucked them another £4m on top to make this one happen, surely you can see this is not the normal way huw works! The penny has had to drop, and it looks like the board have realised this now

Ok guys maybe I should let you into a secret of why I think Huw needs some assistance! Many who work close with Jenkins think he is doing far too much, and that he is a prime canadate for a heart attack, now when some one is over loaded like that, or wants to do everything themselves, because they won't trust others, then they need saving from themselves, Jager goes on about there is a board, but I know for a fact that everything is pretty much left to Huw, and too much work load, then things go wrong, now I'm not going to get into how I know, but this is fact!................
