Morning all from a hot and sunny bandit country - it was 20C when I went to the gym at 08.00 and rising rapidly.. Welcome back H, but we seem to be missing NNW, not heard from him for ages... It's No 1 son's birthday and he is coming round later, but before I have a lot of house finance stuff to sort out....a nice morning on the MAC ahead..
Awfully tiring day today, following a brilliant weekend in Sunderland! I'm off to bed! Night all Night H
Evening all, tres chaud here as well today. Made an early start as after the midday gun it is impossible to work. Found that deer had been around my fields overnight and nipped out some buds that should have been in flower shortly. Apart from a night or two down there with a shotgun not sure what to try next. Great tennis game this afternoon and well done to Murray. Also well done to Chris Froome who has hung on to the yellow jersey in the Tour despite having other teams gang up on him. Suspect that Contador is no longer on drugs as he looks half the rider when it comes to the mountain stages.
Wonder what our friends from Norwich will make of Holt going to Wigan? Apparently a fee (maybe £4m) has been agreed and Norwich have given Holt permission to speak to Wigan - it looks like the only stumbling block may be Holt's (or his agents) wage demands.
For someone who is coming to the end of their career possibly, I think 4m is a bloody good price for us. He has been fantastic for us, but I would rather he left us now, than say possibly next year having had an awful season. We will always be grateful for what he has done at Norwich. Although he has scored goals for us, it is his leadership qualities that I feel we will miss most if he does go. If he does go to Wigan, then as long as he scores a hatful against the binners, then I will be very happy
Morning all from a bright and extremely muggy Weston-super-Mare! I can echo Maestro's words regarding Grant Holt, he has made no secret of the fact that when he stops playing he will move back to his beloved Cumbria! He has already moved his family up there so his daughters can settle into a school without having their lives confused by a change in schooling! I wish him well and am convinced he will always receive a hero's welcome whenever he returns to Carrow Road!
