It seems footballers cannot resist tweeting snippets of information--or is it misinformation? It must drive managers mad. This is probably the first season where tweets have become part of the transfer gossip/speculation in a big way. It is certainly giving the fans plenty to speculate about. For Watford fans, as more names come out, it is adding to the mood of "irrational exuberance" that seems to be taking hold. Oh well, better than the usual mood of "irrational anxiety" I guess, which normally characterises at this time of year. Remember? When we would wait to hear which favourite player from last season has been sold to pay the electricity bill, or what "promising" lad from the lower leagues has been brought in?
I think that Frank Smith is finding it difficult to get information judging by his use of the words "it is believed." http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...players_to_sign_permanent_deals_with_Watford/
"We understand the Hornets want to sign their foreign players on permanent deals so they could leave their loan allocation for domestic-based players." Bit worried about that bit - just how big a squad are we going to have? I suppose that, if they do all sign permanent deals, it will at least stop the sniping from other fans, certain sections of the media - and that idiot Hollowhead.
If anyone has the time to start a thread specificly so we can copy & paste all moaning fans & Journalists comments from across the web about us so we can have a good laugh, would be great - Salisbury has put one on the Rumours thread from a Palace fan and it's made my day!
Pudil has signed till 2017!!!!! "I'm so happy to be part of the team!!! New deal with Watford till 2017" - his official twitter. GREAT NEWS!
Im am so happy about this! Seeing Daniel, Veronica and Danny's smiling faces after matches is great. He is such a gent as well. This is wonderful news. I was really worried that those mercenary loanees, who didnt give a damn about the club, would run back to italy and leave us with 14 players and unable to sign anyone. HAHAHAHAHAHA, NOT!!!!!!! Ian Holloway, you are a prize idiot! Overpaying for a mediocre striker, see you on the way down!
Cristian Battocchio @CrisBatto18 Very happy with my new contract with Watford! Three years more with Hornest T-Shirt! Come on Watford!!
They already have - apparently it's not fair that we haven't paid anything for them, even though the words 'undisclosed fee' have been used. Nor is it fair that other teams weren't allowed to sign them first either.
Transfer Tweeter ‏@TransferTweeter 34m Preston and Swindon are chasing Watford defender Carl Dickinson Hope one of them gets him.
I can't help wondering what it must feel like if you are contracted to a club and not taken on the pre-season tour. Clearly the likes of Dickinson and Jenkins must have known that they had no future at the club but having to stay at home must really rub it in.
Looks as if the message might have got through. Jon Marks ‏@jonmarks72 29m I also understand that Sean Murray has been impressing in #watfordfc pre-season training camp & is looking in very good shape.
I think the problem with Murray is where to play him in our new formation. He's a winger so we don't have a place for him, so if we keep with the 3-5-2 he needs to adapt to a new role. When we tried him at RWB away to Bristol City, you could tell he'd never played there before. He seemed to almost over-compensate the defensive side to the game and didn't push on as much as a normal wing-back would. Anya has adapted to this role very well, so maybe Murray can too Otherwise, he maybe the attack-minded player of the midfield 3, or can try to become the second striker Am really hoping he comes good again as he looks a good player!
Seems as if he is quite happy with the set-up at Watford. http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/130708-almunia-contract-reaction-901105.aspx
Dickinson might enjoy being at home with his new wife. I am sure their agents are working hard to find them a club..
Rather out of touch these days on advertising costs, but see that the club are showing costs. http://www.watfordfc.com/news/artic...=Feed: WatfordFC (Watford FC ... Latest News) It sounds reasonable to me, but anyone know different?
Well done to Sean Murry........ Lost weight, looking fitter and with a very positive attitude. Good luck to him I hope he does well this season
