‘Transfer Bony to Swansea City finalized’

According to the Dutch website elfvoetbal the transfer of Wilfried Bony to Swansea has been finalized. The final details will be handled this afternoon.

The transfer fee that Swansea pays will be around 14 million euros. The number of years Bony will sign remains unclear. Bony has been linked to Swansea for a long time, the Premier League club is currently on training camp in the Netherlands (Hoofddorp)

Bony will join the training camp as soon as possible. Bony can make his debut this Wednesday against NAC breda, if they can find a suitable location for this friendly match. Otherwise the first friendly match for the top striker will be against ADO Den Haag on Saturday.

Bony, who still has a contract until 2015 in Arnhem, wanted to be transferred for over a long time. West Ham United, who were also interested in the Ivorian striker, dropped their interest last week. In Junuary 2011 Vitesse paid 4 million euro for Bony.

Great news if this is true. One more decent striker and I reckon we'll be set for a good season.
 
Indeed it is, but we have the cash when you factor in the new TV deal from Sky and BT. Something of note, if we are still in the Prem in three years time then BT will have really upped the ante on Sky!
 
Please let this be a done deal....and then Jordan Rhodes next week and everything will be more than perfect.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins expects the record-breaking move for Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony to be completed within the next 24 hours.

Jenkins told Sportsmail that the £12million deal, which could rise to £13.8m with add-ons, will ‘hopefully’ be completed by Monday

It will bring to an end a six-month pursuit for the profilic 24-year-old, with the transfer more than doubling the record £5.55m fee Swansea paid for Pablo Hernandez last summer.

It will also answer resoundingly the questions manager Michael Laudrup put to Jenkins earlier in the summer regarding the club’s ambition in the transfer market.

The transfer will be Swansea’s sixth first-team signing of the summer after Jose Canas, Alejandro Pozuelo, Jordi Abat, Jonathan De Guzman and Jonjo Shelvey.

Always dubious of Mail reports but there is an apparent direct quite from HJ so.........
 
It's basically around the price the other PL clubs have been signing strikers for. Given this is your third season, I don't think it can be a surprise you break the transfer fee so significantly.

He sure looks like a catch, I am actually surprised the big clubs haven't been in there. Liverpool bought Aspas, arguably because of our interest. That shut them out it seems. Well I think they bought a striker in our pricerange, then we went and bought one in their range. For us it would probably have been win win, but Liverpool must be somewhat gutted, given their ambitions of gunning for fourth. I suspect Brendan moved too fast on this one, they should have been in for Bony or Gomis. Outplayed Mr. Rodgers.

If we sell Luke More, and Rory Donnely can get his foot into the squad, we look ready. Not sure we need to spend more on additional strikers. Especially given our many midfielders and our ability to push Michu up front. That will open up playtime throughout a long season, which we might find ourself short of. But we will see what they decide, they know the finances.

Hope they keep gold on the bottom of the chest for infrastructure down the line.
 
Id only sell moore if he wants to go otherwise id keep him for emergencies and maybe cup matches....
