Sharp is the new Kevin Phillips, gets teams promoted to the PL with his goals and then dumped by that team as they feel he is not good enough for the PL

Stand by the closest point of the carrousel to the conveyer bringing your luggage in from the plane. It is no fun when some idiot takes your bag thinking its theirs. Think it makes more sense for him to go to Napoli rather than us, they have Champs League football and have just sold their star striker for a lot of money so need a replacement. They probably are more willing to spend big on that replacement aswell now they have the cash from Cavani

That is a very interesting photograph when you look at Victor Wanyama's facial expression. It looks like the smirking bloke behind him has slipped it in nice and easy and left Victor in a state of shock and some pain. He won't be treated like that if he comes and plays football with our team of Choirboys.

 

How would you feel should a footballer just front up and say "To be honest Southampton wasn't perhaps my first choice at the time, we were waiting to see if a bid from Liverpool/Everton/Napoli (delete as required) was going to come about. Would that be okay? I would kind of respect that level of honesty (as I think it's precisely what's happening).

 

Realistically, that's what happens with all transfers. If a player can go to a top six club and expect to receive minutes, that will be their preference. We're just a face in the crowd for the time being.

That said, we seem to do an excellent job of keeping players' eyes from wandering once they are here; we have a number of talented players who are no doubt in demand, but not even a somewhat credible suggestion that any of them are looking for a big move.

Absolutely, but as Schad says, I think that's genuinely the case of the majority of transfers that we (hopefully) pull off right now. Agreed though, our more myopic fanbase would likely have an aneurysm....

 

I always felt that Adkins really wanted Rodriguez or Maynard rather than Sharp but that was the best we could get at the time. Sharp is a decent goalscorer but does not have the pace for the Premiership.
