True but even ignoring that, hard to think of a better move than Reading, unless one of the promoted teams was showing interest (unlikely). No Sean O'Driscoll to sign him this time either...

Well that's one way of looking at it. If it were the case though we'd probably still have Sharp and not Rodriguez. I know which I'd prefer.

Wigan? Blackpool? To name a couple...

Reading aren't coming back up this season

Well firstly I don't necessarily agree that Le Fondre is similar but better. I would think Sharp would back himself as well. I think it was also reported that Sharp and his family don't want to move again. If I've remembered that correctly then Reading and Brighton would seem to be the only realistic options for him.

Le Fondre got more goals in the Prem than Sharp got in the Championship - as they're both pretty much goalscorers, it's not hard to argue Le Fondre would be better for Reading next year.

Well the season before that Sharp scored more for Doncaster and Southampton than Le Fondre did for Reading. It's certainly arguable either way.

Really? If you exclude QPR for one moment, because god knows what squad they're going to have come the end of the transfer window, then Reading are my picks to win the division.

Can't see Blackpool getting anywhere near automatic promotion.

Think Reading are in with a shout but personally think Bolton and Watford will go up automatically

They're going to have to buy a new squad before they can even play a match, let alone think about promotion.

Don't think Watford or Wigan will come close. Reading might. I have a sneaky feeling about McCarthy's Ipswich.

Yeah I thought it was a great deal for Norwich if the fee is true

Good shout with Ipswich. Have a feeling Leicester will pull it together this year.

I'm in the camp of Sharp being a better player than ALF. Le Fondre has yet to prove himself as regular starter in the championship. I don't take anything away from Alfie and his ability as an impact player but his overall game has yet to be proved good enough
