I ****ing hate Burnley. Not because of our recent horrific record against them. Because of the inbetweeners movie, I feel the pain poor Jay, Will, Simon and Neil had to endure. I hope this pisses them off.
If we get Austin then we should find it easier to get another striker at a good price because we wont seem to be so desperate.
This is the same article that was on sky last week., but there is another headline on the transfer page saying fee agreed and Austin in talks.
Definitely makes interesting reading on the Claret Mad board. They do not think much of City's chances in the BPL this upcoming season. One wag said we were the worst team he had seen all season. Another that if CA scores 11 goals then even if City get relegated Austin would stay in the Premier League. Lets hope he scores at least 11.
I read that. Worst team they've played despite the fact we beat them! He's well balanced, a chip on each shoulder
Around that time we played and beat them we weren't playing great football but we were getting the results. Bruce knows what is needed. He sorted us out against Cardiff after our shocking performances.
In all honesty, Aluko was our driving force and we were playing the best football I've ever seen Hull City play pre-December. When Aluko got the injury, we sort of began grinding out results and not playing well at all. The problem with most fans is that they remember our latter Season performances and judge us on them; the nitty-gritty, boring 1-0'ers. We didn't play nice, attacking football at Turf Moor, but we defended brilliantly and got that goal we needed and ultimately; the 3 points. Burnley can say what they want, but I'm pretty sure they did the exact same back at the KC. Set up shop, defended and earned a smash and grab with a controversial celebration from a new top prick.
Burnley make me laugh....like a lot of average Championship sides, their exhibition of Jealousy towards City is very amusing. Thing is,Burnley came down with us in 2010 in a much better financial position, but in the three seasons since relegation have done bugger all in the Championship whilst we flirted with the Playoffs in the 11/12 season before getting automatic promotion in May. We can file Burnley alongside Swindon,Barnsley and Blackpool as "One season premier league wonders".
To be fair, Swindon and Barnsley were in the Prem back at it's creation. 21 years is quite a long time in football. Look at where we were back then, and what we have been through. Blackpool did get into the playoff final last season, but were always going to lose to West Ham. That team was probably better than the one that got them up back in 2010. But now this season, they did start it fantastically and just hit a poor run of form from which they never recovered due to losing Holloway. They probably won't recover from it for a long time either.
And Burnley do have a good history to be honest, and it must hurt supporters of other teams like Leeds, Forest etc to see a unfashionable team doing better than them. But partly that is down to the owner and manager - and at the moment we have a brilliant owner (how many times can that be used to describe previous owners) and a decent proven PL manager
Hull City bias aside, only a complete dipshit would contend the side who finished 2nd over 46 games were the worst side in the division (which from my reading of it, was his real message).
On Tuesday evening, Burnley are at Morecombe for a friendly match. Where will Charlie Austin be then?
I really don't see the Burnley board allowing him to play in any competitive training until this is sorted out. A player worth 4-5 million entering the last year of his contract and under negotiation for sale??? If he broke his leg or even tore a ham, the money would be down the drain!
