Brown and Norris can both go for me, and if we got someone else in I don't see a place for Tonge either (although I'm fine keeping him as is).

Make it nine if we count Dawson <yikes>

Pugh, Brown and Norris should leave, and Dawson will probably need a loan, at least until January.

Really think Thompson could make a breakthrough this year, plus he can cover RB in case of emergency. That leaves Murphy, Tonge, Green and Austin, which is a fairly well balanced selection of central midfielders. Could probably do with someone who plays slightly further forward though, if only as an option

Dawson should go out on loan to get regular game time. He also needs to bulk up a bit. He's so small even my missus could knock him over in a tackle AND SHE'S ABOUT 5FT 5!!!

Pugh certainly hasn't got a futre at Leeds, even as a utility player. Not sure about Norris or Tonge. But as I've said on numerous occasions, we get rid of Brown at our peril. He doesn't have a good reputation with the fans because he keeps getting booked. But if he can stay on his feel and learn to shepherd people out to the wings, his ability to break up attacks might finally get noticed. He may not start too many games, but he's a hell of an asset off the bench and as cover for Austin et al.

On Thompson, if he doesn't at least make the bench on a regular basis, I think his time might be up. But ask me again come the end of the season.

I think Thompson could take over from Brown this season, which is why I don't really see any reason for keeping him. I like Brown personally, but I do think we need to start blooding the younger players in. Brown won't play a long term role for us - Thompson might.

Brown done himself no favours when he came on, got booked gave a way a free kick that led to a goal and could be seen laughing about it whilst picking up his 10th booking leading to a nice little break for Warnocks golden boy. Also he told the fans at a forum to **** off when they asked for a photo of him in a 'team of michael browns' He told the travelling fans to shut up at Birmingham.

He doesnt want to be here then we dont want him. Limited abililty in the modern game anyway. I love a midfield enforcer but not this lad. he can foooooooooooook off. Not fit to lace Battys boots. <ok>

Agreed. I quite like Brown but his time at this level is up and I think Thompson should be given an opportunity in pre-season. McDermott seems willing to give him a go, as in one of the last two games (can't remember quite which) he named Thompson in the starting 11 but then realised he couldn't play because he was still technically out on loan or something.

Yeah that was against Watford on the final day. If Brown was a regular starter it'd be a different scenario, but he'd only be a fringe player anyway, so I'd rather have an up and coming youngster on the fringes than an elder statesman winding down his career <ok>

I do like his style though. You need a 'hard man' in midfield even though the games changed so much what they can do is limited <ok>

A good crunching tackle can get the crowd going and make the game step up a gear.

If you want to see Brown at his best youtube the season he smashed in about 18 for sheffield united. THAT Michael Brown would walk into any championship midfield.

That was back when Warnock was a good manager though <laugh>

Seriously though, Brown and Tonge back then were quality.

Yeah I rated Tonge and was pleased when we signed him. He's still class but seems to have lost a lot of pace. He can still pass a ball and has an eye for goal though <ok>

Yeah I still rate him, you don't need a lot of pace in central midfield as long as you can read the game well and know when to gamble and when to hold back. He's comfortable on the ball so I think he'll suit McDermott's style of play more and we'll see more of the player he can be this year <ok>

Thankfully the waste of space that is Matthew Kilgallon is joining Blackburn Rovers, just to upset those Leeds fans who always think our ex players are better than they ever where.

Noticed on that on Twatter. You think he'll be announced at the Farsley Game?
