That seems likely. I'd suggest the club should offer him a proportion of his wages until the end of his contract, better than paying him full whack to sit at home.

Of course the PFA could have been involved in settling a dispute and we may soon hear he's moved on.

I don't either, but clubs taking him will have fees involved. Could be many aren't interested because of this. Wages certainly won't be as high and Saints won't be willing to keep on paying him if he's elsewhere.

Surely we have to pay him until the end of his contract...unless there are little weasel words in the tiny, tiny print only visible with a radiotelescope. Being guilty myself of reading too much into a twitter message. He may want a move and was hoping the PFA would be more use.

Remember Dickson? We don't have a great track-record in these situations do we...

Dan Seaborne is training with Ipswich Town. On the bench tonight for Ipswich vs Shelbourne.

Or he could just accept a pay cut if he was that desperate to play. The impression I got from his and Sharp's tweets were that they seemed happy enough to spend their days on the golf course though.

Not sure it's wise to draw such conclusions from probably insincere tweets.

Maybe they are, maybe they're not. I don't really care if he wants to play or not, I'm talking from the club's point of view. Depending how long his contract is I'd probably rather pay Chaplow, say, 30% of his wages to play football for Millwall than pay him 100% of his wages to play golf.

I think they want to be at the club pre season training and want to stay here. That is what I've read from their tweets. They are obviously surplus to requirements from Saints end but it depends how this has been communicated to them. If you feel your employer has mistreated you and operated outside the terms of your contract that is when Unions are called in. The erlier tweet then comes down to two things. The PFA have come in and helped Chaplow in his situation or it was a sarcastic dig at them because they cant.

This is ridiculous, we don't know what's happening so there's very little point speculating about it. If Chaplow really wants to have a moan about something he should get it out instead of making sniping remarks.

We don't know the ins and outs of transfers, yet we all speculate on that. I guess this is because it might possibly show our club in a bad light. Possibly.

Nice to see you both giving it go, but I tried last night to point out that this debate was utterly pointless (and, imo, wrong) due to us having so little facts (on BOTH sides of the story, assuming there is even a story), and I clearly failed with that.

Steering away from Chaplow and matters outward.

DTLW, have you heard any more on the player who was expected to be in negotiations this weekend?
