Bafetimbi Gomis is apparently still being persued by the Club, yet he does not seem remotely interested in a move - anywhere. Now I can fully understand, and sympathise with, Gomis' insistence that "he will not be forced into leaving Lyon",and that he is seemingly also reluctant to join Swansea City F.C. What I don't understand is why the Club, who must be fully aware of his sentiments, are seemingly still persuing his signature,or so the media would have us believe. The situation with Bony is also quite mystifying. Perhaps I'm missing something here, but I don't like the tenor of either of these approaches.
I think the club has moved from both these players, I just can't see us going for them, Jenkins comments about Bony just makes me think that we have gone onto different targets. As for this player, good on him if he wants different things, we are not going to be a fit for everyone.
On the Gomis one, Lyon want the money and trying to drive him out, and he doesn't want to leave so not a lot we can do. It might be a battle of wills between Gomis and Lyon. On Bony, player wants to leave, and he has indicated his wish to join us. Arnhem are messing him and us around, we've meet the asking price, just that they are wanting more clubs to come in for him to drive the price up. We will just have to be patient unfortunately, bloody frustrating mind!!!
Bony has expressed a desire to join The Swans' so perhaps we should hang on in there for a while. Gomis' desire not to join Swansea surely means he is one to avoid. It's more than "frustrating",never.
Agree Vetch, Gomis doesn't want to come here, so we should put that target to one side and forget about him. We should however do all we can to sign Bony, as he and his agent have said that he wants to sign for Swansea.
Yep, Bony has expressed wanting to join us, so we need to persevere on this one. Gomis on the other hand, well, I'd look elsewhere.
Gomis stated that he was repectful towards any Club, but didn't want to be treated badly by Lyon: that's the case, it hasn't got anything to do with Swansea - still think he'd be a brilliant signing.
the wages is our only draw back and we have to work extra hard to persuade players to come here, its especially hard to get a striker as they tend to want more than what is on the table. I think we offer good wages for a club our size and should not give in to the players demands as it causes problems in the dressing room. You wait until the new season is upon us there will be players agents begging us to take their player on....
michu £35k so i would imagine the same, He will probably try for 40k or more and we cant afford that without putting the other players noses out....Most are on between £15-£25k so you can see the difference these top strikers are after.
