Just seen at the bottom of the first day back photos page, Andy Dawson's testimonial will see Real Betis coming to the KC

    Notable line from the website

"The visit of Real Betis, the Tigers’ only home pre-season fixture, will also offer Steve Bruce’s side one final run-through ahead of the Premier League opener against Chelsea."

No plans for more home friendlies then?

I imagine it is to give the new pitch the best possible chance to last a full season in decent condition.

Real Betis would have been a really good contest, it still will be, but they've sold 3 or 4 of their starting 11, including 2 to Swansea and a keeper to West Ham.

Could it be that we're about to poach one of their remaining players, and the friendly is part of the deal ?

Think thats why Bournemouth are playing Real Madrid?

No. I think like all the others ones, its a pre-season friendly which has benefits for both teams.

Betis are also playing Everton on the Sunday, so won't be a full side I don't think.

Just came up on sky sports news that Everton are playing Real Betis at Goodison on the 11th. Surely they wont be playing to games in 2 days right?

Two different lineups perhaps... I can't really see the lineups for us being the same against Wednesday and Braga in Spain, being only a day apart...

Finally got some details on the testimonial match:

Tickets will be £10 adults, £5 kids. There'll be a 'legends' match on the pitch before the game starting at 1.30pm lasting about 30-40 minutes. There will also be a 'family fun day' kind of thing going on outside the stadium on the day with various activities. The friendly itself was organised by the club of course, but the testimonial committee will be planning this legends game, so if anyone has any suggestions for this game let me know.

Get the tea-ladies and a couple of old players dressed as former barmaids from the Rovers Return and play as surReal Bettys. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Some of the players from Dawson's promotion campaigns like Pedersen, Deano, Mussie, Goodison, Brown, Ashbee and Barmbs to play in the legends game. Managed by Phil Brown.

What became of the Egyptian friendly.
Seemed to go off the radar when it was mentioned that it was going to be in London or was it really related to deals for Gedo & Fathi which now appear to have gone away,

I think we can call bullshit on that friendly now. It was first mooted before last summer. This is now the second pre-season it hasn't happened...

Given all the political upheaval in Egypt at the moment, I would think a football friendly is the last thing on their minds there.

The situation in Egypt is far too volatile for a friendly to be even considered

Crazy date when Dawson has a league game the same day. Appears that Real Bettis play @ Everton on sunday 11th and its also the local egg chasers fun game @ craven park that day.

As Doncaster dont have a league game that weekend due to Wigan being @ Wembley in the charity shield against Man Utd, why not arrange a game @ Doncaster for the squad players on that sunday ?

Each player gets 45 mins of both games. Job done.

Are losing some players during this summer window.

Danny Graham scored his first goal for Swansea City back in 2011 in a pre-season friendly game btw.
