Chris Samba has left QPR to rejoin Anzhi Makhachkala for a "club record undisclosed fee". Rangers made Samba their record signing in January, but the centre-half was unable to prevent relegation to the Championship. Samba's form at Loftus Road fluctuated, and at one stage he became embroiled in a Twitter row with supporters questioning his wages. But Anzhi have not been put off re-signing the 29-year-old, who spent a year in Russia before his move to London. A statement on the QPR website read: "The club would like to wish Chris all the best for the future and thank him for his contribution to QPR." ...Now use the money well, Harry
A big disappointment, the club did well getting their money back on a 29 year old. I really thought he'd be dominant for us.
Huge disappointment and a really good deal getting the 12 million back and his wages off the books. Won't miss him at all.
Good business by the club if the figures quoted earlier are accurate. Big let down but could have been a rock in the Championship with a proper pre season. Showed his true colours on twitter, like Mbia. People with such attitudes towards our club is not needed, clear them out and get the right people on board so we can build for the future.
I simply think about Redknapp's Rs with Nelsen compared with Redknapp's Rs with Samba. No coincidence that all hopes of survival faded when that change happened.
Not exactly. We won 2 matches after. I do agree though that we were far more solid with Nelsen in the team. How we missed him.
Funny eh...a soccer team complaining about missing a Kiwi....! Oh how times have changed.... BTW....Lions tonight ......GGGGGRRRRROOOOOOWWWWWLLLLL.....!!!!
The point is that I believe the defence looked (and was) more solid with Nelsen under Redknapp than with Samba under Redknapp.... So we're agreeing. Anybody fancy checking the stats?
Good riddance. Vastly overpriced and overrated. he was never more than a big strong central defender with limited skill, limited ball control and limited vision. But then he played in a Blackburn team that was on a downward spiral. All of a sudden he is immense and a superstar. The truth is his shambolic performances cost us at least three matches we should have won. The stuffing was ripped away from our confidence after the second half at Villa and first half at Fulham games in which he played a starring role. Our set pieces became so easy to deal with. We punt it at his head. The opposition put their two biggest defenders on to it. Job done, threat neutralised. What happened to the post-signing publicity which he largely contributed to? Glad to be back because Russian fans were nasty to him. Wants to be with us even if we go down? Yeah right. Then again, another big cut of money into his back pocket and all is forgiven. "Where do I sign?" NEVER AGAIN. Now what do we do with Bosingwa? I would make him play with the kids and do the boot cleaning until he gets fed up and decides to leave of his own accord. He is damaged goods now which no decent team would want to take a chance on.
It's shame that it didn't work out. Can't help feeling if he had joined from Blackburn it would have been a different story. But he didn't work out in the short time he was with us - and he seemed to know it too. Money is back in TF's account now. Time to look towards new recruits - but would like to see some young talented players in the mix now please.
Does that mean he was lying when he said he wanted to move back here 'cos his family means more to him then any amount of money ? Good bye Chris.....Thanks for f*** all !!
**** off back to Russia, you money-grabbing mercenary. He contributed absolutely nothing positive for us, 25 weeks at 100K (I know what TF said) and now 10% of 12 million into his bank account. If he had any scruples he would give Tony the 2 500 000K he has "worked for" back.
