As I rememb er newly promoted Clubs have to pay over the odds for players so I say £8 million for Ferdinand. Make that £10 million, Bernie Ecclestone is rolling in the filthy lucre.

Please can we not sell any players until AFTER we get some freebies in. I completely agree if we can get 5m for Ferdinand and a decent replacement for free/cheap it will be the right move. Sensible business. However until we get someone in we can't POSSIBLY consider selling any single one of our paper thin squad. Mensah is gone, if we sell Ferdinand then we are left with only Bramble and Turner as senior CBs, which is obviously a ****ing stupid place to be with the injury marred seasons they just had! We'll find ourselves in a panic-buy Kilgallon situation all over again. Get Dann/Johnson and Tomkins in- then we'll take offers for Ferdinand.
Yeah- he'll be cheap since they went down, he's young, improving and looks good at football. We've lost Mensah so we need another CB, and although I'd love Dann or Johnson, they've been linked with bigger clubs... I just hope we get there quick enough, as relegation bargains give us more money for that top-quality striker and winger we all know we need.
