Lawrie Dudfield (Leicester, £250,000 - June 2001) Michael Turner (Brentford, £350,000 - July 2006) Wayne Brown (Colchester £450,000 - July 2007) Caleb Folan (Wigan, £1m - August 2007) Peter Halmosi (Plymouth, £2m - July 2008) Anthony Gardner (Tottenham, £2.5m - July 2008) Jimmy Bullard (Fulham, £5m - January 2009) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...emier-League-club-20-years.html#ixzz2YAZvB9Vx
Wayne Brown was well worth the money. Even Caleb Folan played a decent role in getting us promoted. The others were fairly disastrous though.
Folans noteable achievements : Smack on the head at Blackpool Goal v WBA (A) Goal v Fulham (H) Always wore gloves (even in summer) Sent off v Liverpool. He was crap
He did. He also scored a goal in the last minute against Wednesday I think it was? Long ball up field and he put it away. It was one of the worst games I've ever seen before that goal went In.
Lawrie Dudfield is a major reason why I'm a City fan. You should be thanking him for that I think YOU'RE forgetting what you learnt in English classes at school
Brown and Turner are the stand out successes. This is why I would rather pay £7m for somebody like Bent (if we could get him) than £4m for most other players who are more likely to flop. It also shows that you can pay very little for some players (fees and wages) who could be immense for the club.
