Looks like you can have a few mods if you want. Pompey have a couple, run a poll for the fun of it if you like but I'd rather enjoy the football........

Pretty decent bunch on this site so Leo hasnt much to do I guess. Mind you some of the Friday Afternoon thread jokes are a bit near the mark - Bernard Manning material perhaps. We would not want to put off any members of our multicultural world...........................?????????????????????

Agree 2RJ -that some of the jokes are a million miles from PC - but so long as that language and "racist" (i.e. anti Welsh) comments are kept to the jokes forum then I don't think it should matter - I have not had one complaint but if I did I would see if the joke seemed to be meant in good spirit.

In over four months I have modded one comment and that from a non Waford poster.

In truth the people here are all a decent bunch and mod themselves - dont even go near the general forum unless you want ot encounter some pretty vile stuff

 

Or the chatbox.

 

Good points well made Leo. We are all capable of making decisions about which thread we go on. Nice to see your mod skills are not required............

 

I used to be reasonably trigger happy with complaints on 606. Partly because I got fed up of being moderated left right and centre, when in my three years on that site I probably only said half a dozen things that were truly worthy of retraction, and another half dozen that were borderline.

But mainly because there were far more jackasses on there.

Most of the would-be WUMs have dispersed to more "blue chip" venues (Wobby, FourFourTwo etc). Some of the rest are catered for in General chat and the chatbox. But the club-specific ones know that with rival supporters pushing the big buttons on the forums they intend to ruin, the game is up.

 

It's nice to be able to say things like Blatter is a ****er though isn't it?

 

In fairness, if you go on David Bond's blog, you can probably still say that on the BBC.

I just compared him unfavourably to Kim Jong-Il. Which is probably worse.

 

I got modded by the Beeb on its last day for saying something was Carp - being careful not to type Crap and then for calling Reading cheats

 

Would it have been different if you were describing a fishing match in Reading I wonder
